2016 Dodge Viper ACR: "This car is not a 1-3 lap track special"

I love Vipers, don't get me wrong, but this thing will be almost unusable on the street. E.g. I bet the front splitter is delivered in the trunk with strict instructions to attach it only at the track. Just a different market. It would be cool for Chevy to make a track special.

Anybody who laughs at the rear wing on the ACR is simply clueless. It will absolutely crush a Z06.
It's pretty sad that Dodge gives their fans this and all we got was a sticker packaged "C7R Edition". It makes me, and I'm sure other Corvette fans, feel like Charlie Brown looking down into his Halloween bag.

That pic right there....: rock: Definitely the most attractive view of a Viper I've ever seen. I wish I liked the side view more...lol.
When GM/Tadge began building Corvettes with "bandwidth" thinking, and "performance/open air" thinking...they watered down the Z06 in the name of sales. They put budget toward making people with arthritis and large bellies enjoy their wonder years. I hate to say all that, but it's true.
GM f*cked up BIG with the Z06. Why. Because Z06 was a NEW era Corvette "brand". Young folks identified with it. Track junkies identified with it. It broke away from that "old guy" car and said, this is the car for YOU. GM had a great thing, and they pissed it away. They are clawing for younger demographics, but destroyed the ONE THING they've made in all these years that younger dudes actually wanted!!!
I've said it over and over...this Z06 should've been ZR1. Why...because ZR1 has represented performance, but it represented a high end machine. ZR1 also had that legacy, by being from a dead C4 era. ZR1 could've evolved gracefully into the car we have now. Very high performance, but also luxury. Z06 should've remained dedicated, hardcore, race...like Zora intended. Gm, you f*cked up...bad.

I have that car still for that very reason. I was going to move to the C6Z two years ago, but with the C7 debuting I thought, I'm going to wait. With the C7 Z06 revealing itself like I'd predicted (you can check my posts in 2013 and prior), the C6Z will be my next Corvette, and quite possibly my final. That, or I will buy the C7Z51 and build the Z06 that should've been at my own expense.
I know that your comment was your attempt to be rude and condescending, but trust me...the fact that you write a check doesn't make your a car guy bro. Your screenname says it all..."lookie what I have"...pff...gimme a break.

Not laughing on that score!

It now needs more than 1000lb of downforce. The Vette has already basically invalidated mid-engines on the road track in Europe!
I love this stuff!

Well we are now truly 'eff'd. Tow this thing to the track, run all day, tow it home. Wing looks ridiculous, but you know it's going to work. Drive it on the street and you're a twit as you'll need new fillings every couple of months. Overall impression: great job SRT!

Sounds like you may want to go with a Viper poster for your room wall!
My C5 was a Z06 and that was over 10 years ago! On my 4th Z06
On my 8th Corvette which I still have 3 of them. Tell me about a Corvette guy that has 1 Corvette a C5 and still has it!
My screen name HAHA! Which not 1 person knows me by!

I don't think the new ACR is intended for road trippin', Joe.

That's because it's running a real wing, which is 6x more efficient from a drag standpoint than the plastic board bolted to the back of the Z06. Damn fine machine that Viper. I just wish it wasn't built by Chrysler.
