Before the days of the internet/dyno horsepower racing, we had a different way of measuring horsepower.
We figured whoever held the official National Hot Rod Association records had the most horsepower, which in this case happened to be me, both in the unsupercharged gas dragster class, then later in the supercharged gas class, and then the first gas dragster over 200 mph in the quarter mile.

Damn Eddie, you pioneers of high speed drag racing had some *****! It's one thing to do things others have done, but something completely different, doing things no one else has. Awesome stuff!

The long car with the swoopy fiberglass bodywork (took me all one winter to design and build the mold and body) is a 392 cubic inch Chrysler Hemi, on 98% Nitro.
The very early cars used Ford or Oldsmobile drum brakes, but after that I machined some brake discs, and used some lightweight Airheart calipers.
