Looks to me like for 20k less dollars the performance on track of the mustang gt is about 2 seconds behind the mustang. A far cry from an *** whooping.

And this isn't even supercharged mustang (loaded with options of course). which for 15 grand less than a bone stock stingray would probably run nearly neck and neck.

Put simply, the corvette is a status symbol and the cost is a reflection of its "exclusivity".
I'm pretty sure the vid you posted is a video game or is computer animated in one way or another. Maybe newest Forza Motorsport or something. Maybe not the best evidence of a real comparison?

Either way...............

this isn't real and didn't happen.....

99.9%? Everything from the A-pillar forward is different. Those decals and add-ons will be a little pricey.

You do know you posted a YouTube video of a video game right?

How's this for the mustang 4 cylinder coming scary close to the C7 in the quarter mile.

oh and the video's aren't needed. the numbers are all out there.

Hey I'm still a corvette fan first and foremost. I'm just saying the level some here think it is at is not all that superior to some far cheaper rides.

Did you even watch the video you posted? Since when is a 14.27 @ 95 "scary close" to a 11.93 @ 118????

I've had quite a few Mustangs and a couple of Cobra's. If I was back in the market for one, this GT350, along with the latter Boss 302, would pique my interest the most.

The GT350 and 350R are going to be amazing cars but remember the Z28 was priced at $75-$80K. I think we are looking at a $70k plus Mustang and probably close to $90 with all the goodies.

The GT350R will way out of sight and will probably never see a track.

This is the guy who tuned my Focus ST, this little ST pulls some high 12's, the Z06 driver was sleeping I think, damn old Corvette drivers

Considering the ST is wrong wheel drive I consider this an great run.

The GT350 was really in my line up, then I showed both cars to my wife who is not much of a car person. Her response, the C7 is way more sophisticated looking, the Mustang just looks like a mustang with some bling, way to boy racer. When ever we see a nice mustang she keeps saying I'm so glad you got the Corvette, my response "hey I aim to please you", I'll suffer.

Still I do like the GT350, in my world I'd have both.

I would call less than a two second difference between a v8 and a 4 cylinder car too close to call an asswhooping any day.

Must be Mustang math, because 14.27 vs 11.93 is not less than two seconds.

At the last Cars and Coffee I attended, I was told that the 4cyl would run 11s with an intake and a tune. Maybe so, but I've been told so much bs from Mustang owners that I can't take any of it seriously.

To put into perspective 14.27 is only a second quicker than a 2014 1500 Silverado Crew Cab 4x4 with a 5.3 V8 (15.3 @ 92 mph).

Look, I like Stangs, but com'on..... did you not see the trap speed difference, 23 mph. That's not only an *** raping but an *** raping with two extra donkey punches thrown in for icing on the cake. ET comes down to driver so that's a moot point as you could have a ****** driver launch and still trap high but run a crap ET, equal drivers and from a stop or roll and the Stang would look like it's running in reverse. Hell you can prep and gear a fox body with some mods to run a faster ET with a much lower trap speed.... moot point.

11.93 to a 14.27 is an asswhooping.

Now try that with a mustang GT and see how much of a separation there is...................hmmm

2015 mustang gt 1/4 mile 12.7 seconds

C7 12.0 seconds

Guess that *** whooping disappeared.

If you're going to live your life a 1/4 mile at time around the 12-14 second mark, then why not spend $8500 on a 15 year old LS1 Z28 that would run low mid 13's all day long. For about 20% the price of a 15 GT you can experience the same 1/4 mile times.

Your clueless, have you ever driven a car? Are you 14? Look at the f'n trap speed difference. You do realize other have cracked into the mid 11 range on a C7 at still a much higher trap speed then the Stang. My wife's previous GT stock did best of 12.6 at 113. 1st Gen SRT-8 Jeep could crack into 12s but at like 103/104 mph. See how dumb your logic is, according to you they'd be similar, except the Jeep would get donkey punch after its quick jump off the line, look at the mph difference. ET is all about driver skills and launch/traction.

Still about a 10 mph trap speed difference between a GT and C7. Nobody can be this clueless, can they? You can gear a Fox Body to run a quicker ET then the new Stang at a lower mph, so what's the point of your flawed logic?

I really like the GT350...and since it looks like I may never get a Porsche GT4 allocation I will consider it.

That's still a massive separation.
