Anyone here have experience with Honda 5sp transmissions? My 2002 Civic's is noisy, almost a fluttering sound, not always, just sometimes. I know they had problems with them but what I want to know is if anyone knew of any additive that would quiet them down?
I heard Lucas makes something that works. :

I have a 5 speed 2000 Accord, but I haven't had any issues in 180,000 miles :/ Let us know what you find out though, and good luck!

had the best transmission in a Honda ever, hell for that matter the best (smoothest) manual transmission you can buy regardless of cost in the S2000 (owned an 02) never had any issues with it.

From what I've been told and read up on, the 2002 Civic 5sp was prone to noisy operation and failure. And it could happen at any milage, but when it does you're dead on the road. i've had a few honda cars with manuals before and NONE were less than excellent. Supposedly there were over 350 of these failures with that year model but Honda did nothing for the owners because of the cost of a recall on them all. They denied any problems. I did get a recent recall on an airbag though!


What else is new.
