Default 2016 Viper ACR MSRP $117,895

Thread title speaks for itself.....Does not include destination or gas guzzler....Does not include the extreme aero which is an option it seems.

Looks like a good deal if that is what you are looking for. Will be interesting to see real world performance numbers and how they stack up to the new Z and old ZR-1.

This isn't even going to be close. The ACR is going to kill them both. I've kind of fallen for my ZR1, but the Vipers are really sexy and have me thinking. I think I would prefer a base gen V over the ACR to live with daily though.

I'm trying to get one, but a MAJOR issue is developing, at least with early cars. I am being told the "Extreme Aero" package is late availability and won't even be available for ordering for a few months. I had put down a large deposit to be #1 at a local dealer and they couldn't process my order because that is obviously a critical option for me as I planned to heavily track this car.

I'm pretty pissed. Why would Dodge launch an ACR and not make the 'extreme aero' package available at launch? That is one of the main points of the ACR, the fricking aero.....

I have a ZR1 and a Gen 5 GTS.

When I had my Gen 4 ACR I drove the ZR1 quite a bit more than the ACR.

I did do a road trip in ACR one time from SW Florida to Charlotte NC, non stop except for food and fuel. I have to say I was very impressed with it no problems at all. All the crap about being hot, noisy etc was nonexistent. In the long haul I thought it was a touch more comfortable than the Z!

Now that I have the Gen 5 I seem to be driving it a lot more than the ZR1, not sure why.

Now with the new Gen 5 ACR I am giving some very serious consideration to letting the GTS go and do a 1 of 1 ACR when the extreme package is available.

That being said the ZR1 will be staying in the stable, no plans for a C7Z06, in my opinion, my ZR1 is an all round better fit for me than the new Z06. I have had a fair amount of time in the Z06 but not for me right now.

At this point, I would say if I had to make a choice between the ZR1 and any Gen 5, the Vette would be down the road.

I've always loved gen IV ACRs too

When you say the Vette would be down the road, do you mean you'd be keeping it or selling it? Pardon my idiocy

ZR1 would be in someone else's shed, I'm very fortunate to not have to make that decision at least at this time.

I'm sure you've seen them on here befor but here is a couple shots

On display at Muscle Car City

Hard at play at ZMax dragstrip

Gen 5 GTS bumblebee

The ZR1 running at Sebring

Do you work at CAAP? I got to go there one of the days my GTS was being built. I kind of goofed up a little as I showed up in the ZR1 , they were less than thrilled

Well either I'm Ralph or the other guy

JK that's me with Ralph and my bumblebee. He is one hell of a nice guy and a true Viper nut. There wouldn't be a Gen 5 without Ralph's vision.

Well I tend to drive mine to work, and on occasion I park it in the "Chrysler vehicles only" lot because the competitive parking lots are full

And I work at the tech center in Auburn Hills.

If you're Ralph, you should give me a job in SRT

You're in! Just heard they need a guy to test drive all the new stuff around town. Just tell him the Capt sent you

Bad news is there is no more SRT is there?

Good for Ralph on his big promotion

Have you had a chance to go to Prefix? Spent a day there very

I'll be sure to let them know you sent me.

SRT is still a thing, but they just merged back with Dodge. Previously SRT separated from Dodge (so the Viper was just an SRT Viper, not a Dodge SRT Viper). Stupid I know. Nothing's changed, just semantics. And looking up stuff on Autotrader. You want a 2013 Viper? Better look under SRT. Want a 2015? Better look under Dodge

And I haven't
