Here, I can make it relevant to the C7 forum - I own both a Cruze and a C7. Is that close enough LOL???
For giggles, I took the Cruze to the drag strip for some fun runs last week. Mine is a 1.4 litre turbo - I think that's about 85 cubic inches! Those four pistons have to look like salt shakers! Anyway, footbraking the car allowed me to converter-stall the engine at about 1500 rpm and the launch was VERY anemic (anyone surprised?). But once the turbos kicked in things picked up (somewhat). 18.22 secs @ 79 mph LOL!! I gues I'm somewhat amazed that 85 ci would get the car up to that speed in 1320 ft
And no, I can't spin the rear tires - I can't even spin the front tires.

Absolutely agree. Even though I was attempting to interject a little levity into the discussion I am delighted with the Cruze. I rented one for a one-way 500 mile trip back in 2012 and was impressed by the smooth torquey little engine, gas mileage (41.7 on that trip), tight build with no squeaks or rattles, and how quiet it was on the highway. When it came time to replace my old Civic, I bought a new LTZ/RS in 2014. It's been back to the dealer for multiple recalls but even so it's still a keeper.
