A HONDA FIT???????????

There goes their credibility. lol

You do realize those magazines will say anything that will draw consumer interest right? I mean if they labeled a car, "ferrari killer", you know damn well people are going to try to get that car so they can have a "ferrari killer" in their driveway lol.

Don't be soo gullible man. Like i said if you think a g8, GXP, GTO whatever is so and so corvette, that's fine. I was just telling you it is no where near it. That's MY opinion. If you think it is, that's YOUR opinion.

For the record, yes i did drive a G8. Not a GXP but i was going to get a G8 before my GTO. But i wanted a manual and there were no GXP's in my area at that time so i got the GTO.

I mean if you wanna get technical, it's a holden, which were in direct competition with the ford falcon and yes like you said, some european muscle in its performance category.

But i still fail to see how it's anywhere near a corvette besides the engine. You can't just group certain cars together because of the engine lol.

An rx7 isn't a 787B.
sorry....looks like I hit a nerve, not a big deal....just commentary on a very nice 4 door American car! Only 1829 built and turn heads wherever they go!

Built by Holden for Pontiac. All of them were transported by ships from Australia.

Yep. I enjoyed my '12 CTSV, but sold it to put another Vette next to my TT C5.

G8/GXP (even the '04-'06 GTO) were cool cars.

I would have bee-lined it to Pontiac if they made an LS3-powered Solstice. If anything, that would have been the baby Vette to have. I would love it if Chevy brought it back AC Cobra style.

I know right!? A thousand pounds lighter than a Vette, 525HP LS3 overstock crate motor, 325/30ZR19 rear tires under super-flared fenders and a waiver you have to sign before taking the keys...

IMO you would have to compare something to something that is real and there is no such thing as a 4 door corvette. I get it that the engines are close to the same but not exactly the same, but that statement is just hard to swallow. I do like the G8 it's a great car but it's still a 4 door sedan and the corvette is a 2 door sports car, no comparison.

Thanks... yes, it was a very nice car, but I found a Centennial GS and now that both my kids drive, and since my wife has a 4-seater, I don't need another 4-seater. The CTSV was mildly modded at 575rwhp, but my C6 makes a little more power and is 1000lbs lighter...so I sold the V and bought the GS.

LS3 power and six speed like a C6 but in a 2 door pickup. And all the body lines come out.
There was a green Holden Monaro Ute at the Mecum auction in Denver this weekend along with a few of the newer Holden derived GTO/G8 cars. A whole bunch of old GTO's as well.

There have been a few C3 4-doors built but other than a prototype by GM they were all independent conversions. It was not attractive and rather awkward to drive. Had one come through the OKC collector car auction in the late 80's. It looked similar to the one in the link below.
