New SS or used V?
I'm looking for a new car. I want a mid to full size with RWD and a stick. I'm on the fence between a new SS and a used V. The SS stickers for almost $50 but with my GM discount I can probably get one for around $40 which is about the same as a couple year old, used V. I love the Cadillac, but they haven't depreciated at all. And the SS is nearly the same thing minus the blower.
Thoughts?
All opinions welcome.

Go with the V, a better looking car in my opinion, way faster stock too. Easy mod potential, just a CAI, pulley and a tune and your over 630 HP to the crank! Plus the blower sounds so cool when you install the intake! They do tend to heat soak like a bitch though! I had one for two years loved it!

Drive both and see which one you like better. If you need the car for 4 people, try fitting 4 people in each car and see if they are all comfortable. Gas mileage might be slightly better in the SS. You can't go wrong with either car if it fits your needs.

****ing GM putting SS on everything confusing me.
I still say V. I saw the SS in person 2 weeks ago. Boring as ****.
Having driven many Vs, and almost buying one, I love them. If I wasn't buying the Z06 I am, I'd be in a V.

Most are toys for mature adults. Prices are mid 30s now. Pulley, injectors, tune, meth, headers and you are pushing 600 at the wheels...
If the SS had the C7 powerplant it would be a different story with DI, but he old LS3 just doesn't have the low end grunt to move a big sedan around like the blown 6.2

SS.
The Chevy SS is newer and much better suspension, newer and much better chassis, a better handler, bigger interior room, better and newer electronics and integration, newer car, stealthy and sophisticated look, and more special and less common.
The only thing going for the V is more power through a blower, not a very hard thing to do on the Chevy SS.

Those wanting fuel economy won't be looking at these types of performance cars. Those buying these cars won't be to concerned about economy.

I really like the SS, but a used V is the bargain super sedan of the century right now. A buddy bought a '13 V Coupe for $42k or so with 19k miles. He then dropped it at Ligenfelter for a mild package. It's making 583rwhp and it drives like completely stock, nice quiet, smooth. Nail the happy pedal though and it's party time.
I'd get a clean, used V and not look back. I had a '12 CTS-V sedan automatic for 50k miles that I lease returned back in April and I LOVED that car. I beat it like a rental for 3 years and it was rock solid when I returned it. A lot of gas and tires, but it was worth every penny.

I'd get the cts v. It's a hell of a car and it's already taken a big hit on depreciation. If I had the ability I'd probably buy the gmepp warranty as well.
The second gen cts v is awesome on the track and excellent on the street.
The SS is a cool sedan but nowhere near as competent as the cts v and it is being discontinued by gm very shortly. The residual resale value will be low especially once discontinued. ( next year or the year after for sure)

Used CTS-V....you better check that SS discount, might not be as sweet as you think.
