Suburban YukonXL VS Denali & Escalade
So, my twins are about to turn one and I'd like to get a bigger, enclosed vehicle. I have a 99 2 door Tahoe and a 2005 Silverado crew cab that I plan on selling and replacing with a suburban sized truck. I'd like a third row with useable storage behind the back seat as we will be hauling grandparents along on trips from time to time.
The question, is there enough separation in the 2004-2006 Denali XL or Escalade ESV to justify what seems to be about a $2500 premium over a Suburban/Yukon XL LT/SLT? I'm looking at vehicles in the $9,000-$13,000 range and plan to pay cash. This should get me a nice truck with 100,000-140,000 miles. It also seems that the Denali XL and Escalade ESV are less likely to be ghetto sleds compared to their shorter versions.
This will not be a daily driver just used for trips and weekend duty.

Denali/Escalade have the 6.0 while the Yukon/Tahoe have the 5.3.
If you're not buying a 2WD model, D/E have AWD while the Y/T have 4x4.
The Denali is best bang for the buck out of that generation IMO.

Le Mans Master
If I'm looking for a 2000-2006 gen GM SUV, I'm buying a Suburban Z71. I already had one actually, a 2005 model. Great looking truck, better than a Denali or Escalade in my opinion.

I like the Z71 too and it is a great looking truck. What I'm wondering is if the Escalade or Denali offer something more. I know they have more hp but do they ride better, handle better, Is the interior that much nicer.
