Default Sorry, Have Ford question

I trust and have used the knowledge here. I have a 2000 F-150 Triton F-150 4.6 automatic. If I park w/the wheels not perfectly straight the truck well not start, not makes a sound. If I straighten the wheel or put the truck in Neutral, it starts right up.

What do you think is the problem?

Any help is Most appreciated.

The problem is that its a Ford...lol ..... It sounds like a short somewhere in the steering column. Turning the wheel or shifting it into neutral, then she starts..

I think you are right. I have been told that may be the issue as well. Others have suggested the Neutral safety switch. I guess I must keep digging.

Thanks for the suggestion

Yes, a Neutral safety switch. If the car wont start and you played with the shifter and then she started. You found that sweet spot, I would say check the neutral switch. But having to turn the wheels, to there straight. Is what got me.

Most newer cars have a steering position sensor, I bet it tied in with the neutral switch
