The way I understand it is, as far as authenticity goes, you will have a GTC (ACR) and not an "ACR" that will be ultimately identified by the VIN. So your car starts as basic as any other Viper but you get to" have it totally your way", as in Burger King, and add in the ACR package. From how I see it, the GTC cannot be identical to the ACR because its a GTC and allows you to customize options on the GTC ACR that wouldn't be optional for an ACR.

Further, the ACR doesn't come with a hood liner, carpet in certain areas and has a non finished finish (in certain areas), as with the GTC ACR does come with those features. That alone to me disqualifies it as an ACR, and is not in the purest form as the ACR is meant to be.

So there may be a slight discount with the GTC program because there will be more $ for them to play with, and make it attractive to the consumer. This is how I believe it to be.

Thanks Boba,

I think you are probably correct in your explanation. They did tell me that the "light" (i.e., no carpet, etc.) package was available as a GTC option, and that selecting that option got the CCBs - a strange concept. I'll do more research, but I'm inclined to go with your implied suggestion that I just start with an ACR to begin with. As an aside, the dealer really changed his tune in a short period of time - went from above MSRP with a $20K non-refundable deposit to a more reasonable deposit and a price-point just above invoice (for the GTC route). Wonder what that is all about? Probably some marketing push from above? It can't be my good looks!

Pappy, why don't you give Bill a call at the "supporting dealer" on the site.

PM me for more info if you want.

Or Viper Exchange. They have a few (non extremes) in stock and are good to deal with. Met Bernie and the a few of their sales associates and the race team-top notch.

Agree with Van, but if a dealer wants a non-refundable deposit, I'd be expecting below invoice, near their holdback for them accepting no risk.

Yeah, I guess you have to worry about the cold. Do you know if the tires have operating temperature concerns (like the PSC2s)? I just ordered a set of Hoosier R7s and noticed they have the "do not operate in near-freezing conditions" warning. Its 103 here today. LOL

Absolutely. They don't even want them stored in cold weather. The ACR wheels and tires also heavier and Im guessing this is because of all the downforce.

Have them deliver it down here in sunny warm SW Florida. I have room in my shop for ya and I promise to take "very good" care of it till you come pick it up. I should have the bugs worked out of it for you by time you get here

Bill has a good rep, but I wont deal with him. He does a little too much talking for me and didn't straight shoot with me as far as taking my TA in on a trade. Not a good thing when we're talking selling any kind of product.

Roanoke or Viper Exchange are better options IMHO.

I ordered my GTC through Viper Exchange, I've put 1,600 miles on it since July and it's an amazing car! When are you expecting delivery?
