Pappy, right now I know that Dodge is pushing the GTC program and I can only guess its because there's more profit in that program.
The way I understand it is, as far as authenticity goes, you will have a GTC (ACR) and not an "ACR" that will be ultimately identified by the VIN. So your car starts as basic as any other Viper but you get to" have it totally your way", as in Burger King, and add in the ACR package. From how I see it, the GTC cannot be identical to the ACR because its a GTC and allows you to customize options on the GTC ACR that wouldn't be optional for an ACR.
Further, the ACR doesn't come with a hood liner, carpet in certain areas and has a non finished finish (in certain areas), as with the GTC ACR does come with those features. That alone to me disqualifies it as an ACR, and is not in the purest form as the ACR is meant to be.
So there may be a slight discount with the GTC program because there will be more $ for them to play with, and make it attractive to the consumer. This is how I believe it to be.

I think you are probably correct in your explanation. They did tell me that the "light" (i.e., no carpet, etc.) package was available as a GTC option, and that selecting that option got the CCBs - a strange concept. I'll do more research, but I'm inclined to go with your implied suggestion that I just start with an ACR to begin with. As an aside, the dealer really changed his tune in a short period of time - went from above MSRP with a $20K non-refundable deposit to a more reasonable deposit and a price-point just above invoice (for the GTC route). Wonder what that is all about? Probably some marketing push from above? It can't be my good looks!

Roanoke or Viper Exchange are better options IMHO.

Bill has a good rep, but I wont deal with him. He does a little too much talking for me and didn't straight shoot with me as far as taking my TA in on a trade. Not a good thing when we're talking selling any kind of product.
