Default Putting Putting a 1963 Corvette 327 into a 1969 Camaro..

Hello

I have come across a 1969 Camaro that is a base model with a 4 spd transmission. The car is in pretty good condition and is painted my favorite color Hugger Orange. The only problem is there is no engine (was supposable 307 ) in the car all the pulleys and power steering pump has been removed and are no longer with the car. The tranny and bell housing are still in the car.

I have a 327 engine out of my 1963 Corvette. What would I have to do to make it look somewhat stock in appearance? I 1969 Camaro came with a long neck water pump. I have a old 7 blade out of a 1969 Z28 laying around I like to use. I noticed that a 1963 fan clutch will not fit this correct fan 3947772 for a Camaro... What kind of pulleys should I buy. The engine has the original 1963 Harmonic balancer from a 300hp car. What pulleys (Harmonic Balancer) will I need to have the correct hookup for Alternator and power steering pump I probably will put a aftermarket ac unit in also (Gets Hot here in Florida)

I know at least a couple people have swapped small journal engine into a early model Camaro.

Thanks

Is the 327 a matching number engine to the split window? I wouldn't dream of doing it. Just find another engine from elsewhere and drop it in.

I'd get a factory crate engine and enjoy far more power and reliability. In fact, that's exactly what I did with my 68 Corvette. At that time, it was a ZZ3, but newer versions crank out even more power.
