As I made the point on this forum maybe a year ago, I hope none of the technology-lovers -- who can't wait for the next Nanny System on the Corvette -- don't whine when Washington regulates Corvettes out of existence.
Or worse yet, makes them automatic-driving only.
It'll happen, we just don't know when. But not in my lifetime.

well... many many years ago,
it was... Foxtrot Tango Alpha (FTA for those ex military ex draftee's, you know what that means)
now i think i am gonna start saying... Foxtrot Tango Government (instead of GOLF)
more gov in our cars the worse they (cars, gov already is) will be, just saying.
btw, i have squashed bigger creepy crawly things with my size 10 shoe!!

How will it play out legally?
When accidents do occur who gets sued; "driver"? manufacturer? software designer? As much as the law will usually work, technology is moving far faster than the law....interesting times

I think it's a great idea. Great way to help reduce traffic, crashes and other human created driving issues. This is for people who use cars as appliances.
