Best substitute for Corvette that has a back seat

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've thought about a GT-R, but even an 09 with miles on it are over 50k. I want something lightly used. I've looked at various 911 varieties. I feel like I'd really need a 991 cause it's the new style, but they are pricier.
I guess I need to add some detail... 99% of the family outings would be in the wife-mobile. My car needing a backseat would be in the event of an emergency or perhaps a family outing to a car enthusiast function.
So I'd need car seats to be able to be used but am not worried about getting them in and out too often.
I guess this raises another question. How many guys out there just drive a 2 seat car as a daily driver and the wife has the backseat car? Has there ever been a situation where you really needed that back seat?

I totally forgot about car seats.
That said, the 911 is actually a great second car when the kids are beyond car seats. My 8 and 11 yo daughters fit fine in back. They beg to go in my car most of the time, because it's fun and "cool".
For car seats though... no question... fast sedan. There are a ton of great options these days.

To the OP..... honestly I have to say, after getting my S4 I find myself in the Z06 less, its such a great all around car that is an absolute blast to drive (I have a piggyback tuner which give equivalent performance to a stage 1 tune). I say to go test drive some fun sedans and then evaluate your situation..... you might just be surprised. Bottom line, get what you feel suites your needs. We are all different people who demand different things from our cars, do what's right for you!!

Not sure I'm the best for a suggestion. But I'm in the same situation. Wife has an odyssey and I drive 4door civic. 2 kids age 5 and 3. I have always dreamed of owning a corvette since I was 16. I'm 36 now. I'm looking at a vette as a fun car to drive on my days off when the kiddos are in school or date nights with wife etc.. Impractical yes. I haven't test driven any of the fast sedans but test driven a 14 vette base and wow I was impressed!!! Anyway the new camaro may be an option, on paper looks good. Yes back seats with small kids reverse car seat will be useless if anyone is in front seat. We had a 2 door civic when my kids were infants and it was doable but really tough. You can make anything really work if your happy with the decision. I'm still on the fence about the camaro as a daily driver and ditching the civic or a 3rd car vette. But I lovvveee the targa top which is out of the question with the sedans except a sunroof. Anyway just my 2 cents. Good luck from someone in the same boat.

What about a Pontiac G8 GT? I know it's probably a bit slower than you're looking for but it does have a back seat. Probably roomier than most of the other suggestions here, nice interior (in my opinion) and has a V8 6.0 L76 I believe pushing somewhere around 380hp.

Don't overlook the Chevy SS.
It's the rebirth of the late, lamented Pontiac G8 GXP.
Full size sedan, big back seats, loaded from the factory, with an LS 3 under the hood packing 415 hp/415 torque. And you can order it with a stick!
I love mine. The '16s will probably be the final year since Holden is shutting down production in 2017.
You owe it to yourself to check one out. 45 grand and worth it.
Pretty bad gas mileage, but the same applies to most of the other choices here, too.

I am on my second V-Wagon, since 2014 was the end of the road for the Wagon. 6 speed of course. Quirky car, though, and sounds like you don't want to give up the sports car, so frankly I would not. Just use Uber in an emergency

The 911 works as would a new 6 th generation camaro ss convertible.
Just put the reverse car seat up front and regular car seat in back.
I'd probably do the upcoming 6 th gen camaro ss or 1le or upcoming ZL1 and the mustang gt350 is a cool choice too....
I like targa tops or convertibles these days....so my first choice would be the 6 th gen camaro SS convertible....second would be a pre owned 911s convertible...
I really like the uber suggestion....I never thought of that solution previously....
Just keep the c6 and call uber when need be.....

Base SS with NPP came in at 3672 lbs. A loaded 2SS came in at 3760 lbs. This car is pretty damn impressive.

I always had a Corvette when the kids were growing up. And even though my wife always had a kidmobile of some sort, I also had a coupe with back seat.
A 4-door sporty car as an only car never appealed to me - too heavy and isolated from the raw sports car experience.

I had a CLA45 AMG for about 6 months. It is a freaken blast to drive. Quick as hell and accelerates off the line like a bullet with launch control. The only negative is slight turbo lag. Also the fact that they only come in automatic too. If I had to pick between an S4 and a 45 AMG...I'd honestly have to give it a lot of thought. I had an S4 I bought new in 2012, for 2 years and traded it on the CLA45 AMG. I think the CLA is a little quicker and handles a little better. But the S4 is more comfortable and has a lot more room inside. I never drove the Merc in winter, but the S4 with good snow tires is a tank. I drove down an road that wasn't plowed in about 12 inches of snow and it easliy went right through it.
