Best substitute for Corvette that has a back seat

The Focus RS is coming soon....maybe something to consider. The Golf R, Audi S3 or S4, GT350 for sure, would all be cars I would consider. I would imagine getting a child seat in the back of a 2 door sports car would be a PITA.

Don't save the corvette from daily use by selling it.
Jmo....or get a diesel canyon.? And keep the corvette?
I'd imagine vW will be discounting their GTI s since diesels are not allowed to be sold by their dealer network...
I do like the camaro SS and imagine with the LT1 it will get good gas mileage....and the back seats are fine in emergency a for taking the kids....
If I had two kids.."and wanted one vehicle....the camaro ss 6th gen would be my choice as a dail as long as the wife had a four door for family outings.
I keep reading how the Porsche 911s from 1999 and up is a smoking deal on the used car market but I wouldn't want to deal with potiential Porsche repair bills....

Easy answer. CTS-V. Do a stage 1 upgrade for around $2500 which will put you at about 645 FWHP. It's called the 4 door Corvette for a reason. Go drive one. You'll love it.

I would get either a V2 CTS V or a new Chevy SS. Both are nice, have an LS under the hood, can be had with a manual, and are extremely practical.
The new Charger Scat Pack or 392 would also be a nice car to have.

I would get a 911 turbo. Either a 2007 manual or a 2010 with pdk. Wanting the newest body style with Porsche is odd to me. They mostly look the same. Interior choice is what would matter to me.

However, the interior space wouldn't be a problem with kids. I (unfortunately) have more experience than I care to admit to putting my kids in and out of a 2003 VW Beetle which is roughly the same size of a 911 interior. Compared to popping my kids in and out of a wagon it's a pain in the butt to deal with the car seats, but it isn't that big of a deal and I wouldn't think twice about so.
At least when compared to my '79 Corvette, the fact that a 911 has both rear seats and a trunk makes it a very practical daily driver. Then, if you get an AWD version (the turbo only comes in AWD but some of the carrera models don't) you have something you can drive year round.
To the OP, I'd say stop by a Porsche dealer and check out the interior of a 911. Anything from about 2007 to present in the 911 range looks almost identical both interior and out.
The panamera is another idea. You can get a 2010 or newer panamera turbo with the PDK for around $60,000 I believe but the exterior is just so damn ugly in my opinion. I've read lots of people's reviews on the panamera and the only complaint I hear over and over again is that when you look in the rear view mirror that it isn't a 911. Then again, a panamera turbo hits 0-60 in the 3.5 second range which isn't too bad for a 4 door sedan.

Traded in my 07 z51 auto for a 16 Mercedes AMG C63S...luv it so far.
Time has come for me to get a new daily driver. If I didn't have kids, I'd trade the C6 and my truck in for a C7 Z06. No question. However, now with 1 child and maybe another in the coming year or two...I am considering the unfortunate thought of trading in those two for a car with a back seat.
I would need to buy something that can give me the same thrill of a Corvette, but have 4 seats and decent gas mileage (75 miles per day commuting).
I ask the forum for suggestions. New or used but no more than a couple of years old. Price range is +/- $50k
So far leading the pack is the 2016 Shelby GT350 (I know the MPG sucks). But are there other cars with that level of performance for a similar price?

I bought a 2009 Z06 and a 2009 CTS-V, both brand new, about 2 months apart. Kept the Z06 for 2 years, kept the CTS-V for 5 years. The Cadillac is a much nicer car than the Corvette, inside and out. Quality of that car was just far better. Still my favorite GM car I've owned, and I've had 30+ of them.

If the requirement is a back seat then might as well say four-door-car.
A Corvette is a car with extraordinary chassis construction. There isn't any four-door car built like this.
There are a lot of prestigious four-door cars. Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Jaguar, MB, Porsche, Alfa Romeo, and so on.
Save the cost and get an Infiniti Q50. Or really save the cost and get a V6 Dodge Charger
How about 2+2's with extraordinary chassis construction ? Well, the Lotus Evora can be configured as a 2+2. And here is the Ferrari Mondial:

The best Mondial is the Mondial T with production from 1989 to 1993.
The Evora 2+2:

In 1993 I had the choice to buy another Corvette (my 7th) or a Trans Am. After driving both I decided that for 1/2 the price of the 'Vette I had about the same performance, a back seat if needed, a relatively better ride and a car easier to get in and out of. A no brainer for me.
After a few years I dubbed the TA as a perfect car for me and even bought a 2002 when they stopped making them.
These arent available new but nice examples can be had.

It is no Vette obviously, but have you considered a 335i? They get great gas mileage, and are pretty quick.

The forty grand 2016 camaro ss with MRC and npp fits the bill.
That's what I'd get if I needed back seats for occasional kiddie use.
