Default Not my papa's Oldsmobile

Oldsmobile. Conjours up old stogies. Your dad or grandpa in polyester. The car you were stuck behind on a two-lane country road with smoke billowing out of the exhaust?

There less than 100 of these Dynamic 88 convertibles still left from 1964. This is an original Rocket 88 394 ultra high compression V8. Cast iron and a stainless steel dash. 14" wheels and tires. Vent windows. Supple leather. All mine.

See you on the road. I'll be the one with tire smoke....

Always nice to see a well-restored car from that era. I was a Mopar fan back then, but it doesn't matter. Anything in good shape from that era should make any and all of us feel good. Also neat that you are apparently driving it. Always seems a shame for someone to restore a car and then just display it. The fun ought to be in driving it around.

Too bad that many of the late '50 - early '70 cars are almost extinct now.
Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Plymouth, Desoto, etc., even the brand names are gone.
Personally I own a '69 Eldorado and a '72 Chevy Kingswood, to complement my C6Z.
I absolutely LOVE the cars of that great era, as well as those of the late '20s and the early '30s.

Below is the link to a collection of pictures that were shot by Appie Deijcks over the years. Like me he is from the Netherlands and the 160+ (!) pages mostly cover meetings and events in my country and in Germany.
There are cars and trucks, motorcycles and mopeds. They originate from America, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, the UK and a few other countries. Some are custom or restored, others are rusty. But ALL are beautiful in their own right!
Take your time and enjoy!

Anyone who takes the time to restore then keep a car like this on the road has my respect and gratitude. These cars were befor my time, but having personally restored a '79 corvette I appreciate the time and work that goes into project like that.

Shouldn't be too difficult in finding a '68, '69, or '70 442, doing National searches. My fav was the '67. But I'd love having a '68 or '69.
