Default Road & Track Performance Car of the Year

holy cow I was blown away at the article this month in Road and Track stated the mustang gt is their "PERFORMANCE CAR OF THE YEAR"

Crazy to even put that in their magazine. not being biased to the Z06 but their were some killers in the field. The mustang 0-60 isn't under 4 seconds and the magazine showed like 12.3 quarter mile time. That and slow at the track to? Not sure what they are going for there? The Ferrari is just a beast and since its the first twin turbo (I think) they have ever done I have heard a lot of guys on shows say things like "its too damn fast for the road, just too much on demand scary power" which is funny but even the top gear guys said that. Some of the cars like the Ferrari aren't really buyable to the public so to speak (over 200k isn't really a car that sells a lot) but the vette and viper are............. the mustang GT is a nice car but just not in the same league as the others in the article.
A List of better faster cars the GT beat
(1/4 mile time--0 to 60-- track time)
Ferrari 488 GTB
10.9--3.0--1:59.04
corvette Z06
11.5--3.3--1:58.25
viper ACR
11.8--3.5--1:58.14
Mustang Gt350r
12.3--4.0--2:02.27
All 3 cars were faster 0-60, faster 1/4 mile times and faster around their track. [B][U]So just what part of the performance car of the year did the ford win? Im confused to say the least, paul

So what did the article say as justification for their selection? I do not subscribe to that magazine.

I bet they rotate the award around between car companies to ensure they keep advertising in their magazine...

From those numbers it appears the regular Camaro SS is a better performer than the Mustang Shelby. Interesting indeed. Ford may have a real problem on its hands again in this Camaro Vs Mustang war.

What I extracted from the article was that the GT 350 was an easier car to drive faster than the Vette and the Viper even though it's capabilities are lower. So, if you don't know how to drive go with the slower car that's easier to drive
