Why does anybody get their information from clickbait sites and memes? We're in the information age, where anybody can verify virtually anything from a reputable source within minutes, yet people are constantly being spoonfed nonsense by idiots and taking it as gospel.

Not a single fact in that release is accurate.
Car will be in the low to mid 400,000's depending on how it's ordered and 630hp is very close to the road car's numbers. The car ISN"T being built to drag race a P1 918 or anything else or lay down single "pre-heat soak" "hero" lap times for the magazines (however those numbers will be excellent). It is being built to win at Le Mans this June on the 50th Anniversary of their 1,2,3 finish so it IS being engineered to run like stink for 24 straight hours.....period. The car will be thought of as bad-*** when it is understood how, why and for what purpose it was built. When Ford finally does make the aero numbers public minds will be blown and the V6 choice over a V8 will be completely understood.

Sorry for coming off arrogant or like"The Donald" LOL. I was only trying to add some facts to the wild speculation about the new GT. A few months back I was fortunate enough to meet with some of the engineers and project mgrs working on this car at a Ford GT event. They wouldn't answer all our questions about the project but did some. Everything I posted was learned from that encounter and not from internet speculation.
Again, Sorry

Even at $400,000 for a "stripper", it's more than I can afford plus the extremely low production rate will make it impossible to find one that doesn't have a "market adjustment".
The new Acura NSX does look very promising. 500 horses from the TT V6 plus the extra horsepower from the three electric motors will make it very quick off the line as it will be AWD at low speeds due to the two electric motors to the front wheels. Half the price of the Ford GT with around 40 a week production rate.

Although interesting to learn and talk about, cars that are twice the cost and more and a fraction of production of the Corvette are just that... interesting. They are no competition with the Corvette. American muscle, American value wins when you compare. I love all cars and the Ford GT and the NSX is no exception.

Plenty of people that have a Corvette can afford a more expensive car, if it catches their eye.
Plenty of people that drive more expensive cars can also afford a Corvette, but it doesn't do anything for them.
People normally buy what they like. If they have $150,000 to spend on a car but like a $75,000 Corvette, that's what they buy. Not always do Corvette owners have to skip lunch for 40 years so they can buy a $75,000 Corvette.
To some people, the quickest car to 60 MPH, or the quickest around a road course(which they never intend to do) is not the best value (or bang for the buck) to them. Their is a lot more to owning/driving a car then that.
If what you say was true, than there would be no other sports cars on the American road, but there are. I see plenty of Porsches and Mercedes sports cars on the road that cost as much(or more, sometimes 2-3X) as a Corvette. Those people decided to spend their money on a car other than a Corvette, and drive it on American roads.
