The old Opel of the 70s looked like a small C3-wonder if the new Opel will resemble the C7.

Burning Brakes
My mom had one when I was a kid in the 70's. Headlights rotated sideways with a lever pull kind of like the brake lever, and windshield wipers came on with a foot switch to the left of the brake pedal. Love seeing them at car shows.

Better yet, will they stick the 330 hp engine in it?
The Pontiac and Saturn versions which had there beginnings from Opal would have been great fun with that engine in them, will Opal do a "hot rod" along these lines? What fun that would be.

I remember them well. Cute, good-looking, but, as you pointed out, not a fast accelerating car. I wonder if GM is evaluating bringing the latest version to the US under the Buick nameplate. Buick is trying to re-invent it's image and a V-6, 350HP version would certainly get a lot of attention.

Melting Slicks
There were always a few of those baby C3 Opels in my neighborhood as kid. I always liked the looks of them.
I saw some pics a few years ago that looked like they marketed the Opel Gt based on the Saturn Sky/Pontiac Solstice platform.

I remember when the Opel GTs first were introduced. I was a senior in high school that year, and my father thought it would make a good graduation gift for me....and he thought of getting one for himself, too.
So he went to the local Buick dealer, and got the surprise of his life. Looking at the size and simplicity of them, as well as the price of other Opels of the day, he was thinking they'd be about $1900-2000. Turns out they were a shade over $3000, which was $3-400 more than the '67 Camaro went for, that he had at the time.
Long story short, I didn't get one............

That was another car I owned for a short time it wasn't the greatest car in town.
flipping the headlights were what everyone loved and laughed at the most.
Growing up as a kid that bought and flipped cars to make a living, was more fun than you could ever imagine, I wish I could do it again.
