Nice find and a nice looking Chevelle How does it look compared to when you bought it? Did it "grow" any new options that it did not come equipped with when new? Do you want to buy it?

Almost immediately, I removed the sub-standard, OE, Inland shifter, and installed a Hurst Competition Plus. Great improvement. A set of Appliance "slot mags" was the next change. Then, several months later, for reasons unknown, I removed the OE, "low-riser" intake manifold and Q-Jet carb, replacing them with an Edelbrock intake and a 780 CFM Holley carb. The car stayed that way until I sold it. I did, however, take the "mags" of it, and put them on my next car.
The second owner kept it as-as, but I heard (not positive) that the 3rd owner removed the 454, and the "rock crusher", and installed an L-88 427, backed by a Turbo 400 tranny, and was drag racing it in that configuration. I lost track of the car in the late 80s.
The E-bay ad shows a different engine, steering wheel, and of course, a completely different stereo head unit. Everything else looks pretty much the same.
Do I want it back? I don't know, probably not. The reason I originally sold it, was because it was a BEAR to drive, with no power steering and a clutch pedal that took tow men and a boy to push down. At the time, it was my DD, and as much as I hate to say it, it had become a chore to drive it. If it had power steering, I might have kept it longer, but I still would have been driving it daily, winters included, so it might have become a LOT rustier than it did. Secondly, the E-bay bids are currently at $27K, with the reserve not met. I'm retired now, and don't have that kind of coin, for a "toy car".....
It's just nice to know it didn't wind up wrapped around a tree!!

It doesn't take a whole lot to add power steering and today's clutches can be featherlite and have more bite than before.
Now they are selling multi-disc clutches that are like pushing in a honda clutch only with 4 times the force.
A few hundered for the Power steerer and 500 for the clutch you can have your car back that will a pleasure to drive.
I had a all black 4 speed 71 malibu conv. that had the worst manual steering ever, so I know of what you say about a pain in the *** to drive.
