Am I being cynical, or is something not right here?

"M" badge on a non-M car?

It's obviously a debaged 135i convertible with the "M sport package", not an M car.

We have a winner!

I just don't understand why people do something like this. Don't people's parents teach kids about posing?
Maybe de-badging completely, if your driving a base car. Possibly putting a Corvette badge on a 20 year old Miata, would a least be funny.
How would you feel when a real M Car pulls along side you? Would you just hang your head in shame?
I'd be afraid that eventually a picture of the car would show up on the internet, under the label "Poser"

I have said this for years, I hate BMW's and the people who drive them, 9 times out of 10 when you see someone driving like an Azzhole they are usually in a Bmw regardless of the model or "badge"

If you drive one you should hang your head in shame not because you put fake Motorsport badges on it, but because you have a $400+ lease payment on a POS.

I really enjoyed all of my BMWs; 2002, E36M3, M Coupe (S52 - 240hp).

If the M Coupe had the S54 motor (320hp) it would have been a long-term car for me. Much more fun to drive than my C5 and the interior design was one of the best of any car I've owned.

Here in DFW, I see a LOT of BMW fake M cars. It's sad. The new Civic Si or Type R crap.

Agreed 100%, usually some young idiot behind the wheel that thinks its super fast or something. Usually weaves in and out of traffic, sad really. The car's are junk too. My ex gf has a 335 and its pathetic slow not to mention in service all the time. The interiors are so bland and leather seats aren't comfortable. If I was forced to buy into the luxury car market I would at least go for a Mercedes. CL/S/etc.
