why do you say that? the base 350 is competing against the c7 corvette. Is the 16 SS camaro nimble / quick enough around at a track to complete against the 350?

I think we will find the 1LE will run with the GT350.

Maybe the GT350r.

Gm should offer a set of carbon fiber wheels for the 1LE as an option...

Awesome wheels that I heard make the GT350 R a money loser for ford at the price they sell that model.

The idea is awesome but at the cost to replace I'd be afraid they would be stolen if used on a daily driver....

the base 350 isn't competing against anything...it wont do 15min on track before hitting limp mode. Now the 350TP can nip at the heels of a C7 , but the GT350R only beat the old Z28 by 1.25 seconds at Chuckwalla...so does Chevy need to spend the R&D money building a car to 1-up a car with a production run of 500 units? I guess if they are just in it for bragging rights they will , but the ZL1 will probably handle the 350R already and Chevy doesnt have a N/A motor to put in a Z28 at this time.

I don't follow your point. Are you saying the 350 enters limp mode or the new c7 does?

these cars are not out in the wild enough yet to know which one is going to be the best track toy. I would think that people are going to find reasons to justify both and both will be successful, capable, and fun.

the 350 base and tech cars go into limp mode quickly because they do not come with tranny or diff coolers. Ford will add coolers in 2017

You heard wrong and I don't see very many GT350R's used as daily drivers.

is it fair to say that the GT350 is the equivelant of the 1996 ~ 2001 cobra and the R is equivlant of the 93 / 95 / 00 Cobra R?

The carbon fiber wheels are the money loosing portion of the gt350r equation for ford...but as consumer who cares....

As much as I dig low unsprung weight...I think those wheels would be ripe for being stolen...
R
Just too tempting ...

Just to expensive to lose.....

Maybe with manufacturers moving in that direction more often the pricing will come down and carbon fiber wheels won't be such a high valued target...

Awesome for handling improvement...

Still I believe the 1LE at around 43 grand I believe will take on the gt350 ....and the approximate 64 grand ZL1 will chew up and spit out most competition on the track...

Take your pick on competitive brand...

M4? 911.? GT350R? Good company...for sure.
