These were cool cars when they came out. A lot of performance and luxury with a design that has held up pretty well.

I see them trading hands pretty regularly in the mid to upper teens with similar mileage and age. Is this one a little more due to celebrity ownership?

thanks and good luck with the sale!

I think my STS-V is worth more than a daily driver of similar age and mileage because of the condition, appearance, and because this one has been treated more like a garage queen, than a daily driver.

For example:
I have never taken mine out in the rain, nor have I ever left the garage with mine if there was any rain showing on the radar, or forecast before we are due back home. My wife Ercie has two different pickup trucks that we use for going to work, grocery store, daily drivers, and in inclement weather.

Mine is stored in an air conditioned and humidity controlled garage, and has never been parked outside overnight.

Mine has been used primarily as our ride to church on pretty Sundays. Our little Cowboy church is a 60 mile round trip for us, all highway miles with only one stop between our house and our church. I don't run over the 75 mph speed limit, and we get 25-26 mpg doing that.

If we ever take it to a restaurant, I am always careful to park in the farthest corner of the parking lot, where there is the least chance of getting a door ding.

I normally clean the car after each use, so bug juice or other contaminants don't stay on the car long enough to damage the finish.

I use clay bar as needed, and use Rejex protectant, not just to protect the finish, but to make cleaning easier. It may be hard to see in the pictures, but mine looks newer, I think, than daily drivers that have been subjected to more harsh weather conditions than mine sees.

Mine has always been a Texas car.

Mine has fresh Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires on wheels that do not have a single blemish. Some of the other cars ads that I have looked at had less desirable tires, (one had mismatched brands) on wheels with curb rash. My sale includes a new battery and a new car cover, and maximum legal tinted windows that we had installed.

Mine is not a car that was bought by a car lot, to make money on, mine was bought for my wife and my personal use, and if that red Mercedes roadster with the twin-turbo V-eight had not captured my fancy, my STS-V would not be for sale.

As far as celebrity status, I can see where a new owner MIGHT want to mention that the previous owner is the only owner/driver/tuner that has won the top fuel drag racing championship on land and water. But I personally don't see a dollar value for that.

My Lola T-70 coupe was owned by James Garner, and later used in George Lucas' first full length movie THX 1138, and driven by Robert Duvall. I did get a kick out of telling folks about that, but I did not pay any more for the car for that reason, than I would have otherwise.

Last time I looked, my Lola was for sale in France for about two million US dollars. I don't know if the fact that James Garner was the first owner, George Lucas used it, and then I had it for over 30 years is figured into the asking price, but I suspect that price is because my Lola is the most original surviving Lola T-70 coupe, serial #SL 73-117.

Thanks for the question, and giving me a chance to explain my pricing.

Cheers,

Eddie FourFather Hill

Meant no harm Eddie, more than anything I was responding to Lionsfan's comment.

Terry, When I put an ad on Ebay for my STS-V, complete with VIN, etc., I see that they offer what they call a full vehicle history report.
Here is the Ebay ad info.

I did not request the report that Ebay offers, when I placed my ad, and I don't have any idea how they obtain their info, or how accurate it is. I have never requested a Carfax on this STS-V, or any other car I've ever bought, because I rely on my own inspection and evaluation of whatever I have an interest in, before I make the purchase.

The records I have seen on the car show it to have two Texas owners before I bought it.

And again, the reason I don't want to trade for your Vette, is that I don't want to have to sell two vehicles, yours and mine, instead of just mine. I'm eighty years old now, and not really looking for extra work-

Forum rules clearly state that interference in a "for sale" thread is prohibited. If you think the OP's price is too high and you're interested then make an offer!!!! If you don't have something constructive or you're not interested then keep your comments to yourself!! Not sure why this is so hard for people to understand!!!!

This car looks to be an immaculate example and therefore is being advertised a bit higher than some others that may have sold cheaper. If you're interested then make an offer, if you're just here to stir up $hit then take your comments elsewhere!!!!! I have been here 16 years and the amount of ignorant people that I have encountered on this forum makes my head spin!!!!!!!

1 - I actually looked at the top of this forum for a sticky with some rules to see if I could ask about price, didn't see anything

2 - I was very respectful and didn't flame the OP in any way

3 - The OP appears to be a big boy who answered my questions with some good facts and I appreciate that

The OP seems to be in no hurry to sell the car and believes it's worth a premium and, as I stated, good luck with sale

Holy crap man, it seems like yesterday watching you race after you came out of the first retirement (early-mid 80's?)

Here are a couple of videos that Ercie and I did to show and tell a bit more about our supercharged Cadillac STS-V that is for sale now that Ercie bought a red twin turbo Mercedes roadster for me for my birthday.

Here is a public answer to some private questions.

Automatic Transmission Fluid

On page 5-27 of the owner's manual- "It is not necessary to check the transmission fluid level. A transmission fluid leak is the only reason for fluid loss." -- And from me- this car has never leaked a drop of anything except the water that it condenses from the air with the refrigerated air conditioning system.

Change the fluid and filter at the intervals listed in
Additional Required Services on page 6-6,

And on page 6-6,
Change automatic transmission fluid and filter (normal service) - 100,000 miles

No transmission dipstick, per underhood labeled illustration on page 5-16 and 5-17 of the owner's manual.

Automatic Level Control

Page 4-37 of the owner's manual- This feature keeps the rear of your vehicle level as the load changes. It is automatic, you do not need to adjust anything.

As far as driving this car cross country- There is nothing that I would want to do to the car prior to driving it any distance. In the almost four years we have had the car it has never given us any concerns whatsoever about its reliability. And from what I have read on some of the forums, there are some of these out there with forty thousand or more miles on them than on mine, and still going strong.

Thanks for the questions.

160,000 miles and no major issues.. Only things I've had to do in the last 30k was replace a tail light that stopped working, a wheel hub, and still have to do the rear diff bushing.

There were 1,306 of these built for this 2006 model year, and total production over four years was 2,503
A friend and I were just talking about these things the other day. Great looking car. Hard to believe that it hasn't sold.

I've always been a fan of the Caddy V cars... which is probably pretty obvious given that I have my current V wagon for sale to make room for another V.

OK, it was me... Gonna make a holiday out of the trip and I'm already past Cheyenne on my way to Glacier NP. In Great Falls MT tonight. Should be crossing the GTTSR by noon Friday. Haven't decided which route to take home yet on Sat or Sun. Anyone else up here? I did a tour something like this right after I got my Vette too. Anyway, the Caddy was better than expected. Shows AS new and it's TEN years old! Crossed the NW corner of TX and the NE corner of NM and all of CO north to Cheyenne WY the first night. Did I mention it has a supercharger? Crossed all of WY and a couple hundred into MT today. Man it's a sweet car and Eddie is a class A gentleman and a gracious host. I almost forgot...the whine of the supercharger gives me a......:woot:

TerryL, Thank you for the post and the compliments. We enjoyed your brief visit and getting to know you a little bit, and thank you again for buying our Caddy. Ercie and I sincerely hope you enjoy the car as much as we did, and that you enjoy many, many miles and smiles.

Is that blower sound cool, or what?
