What is a better buy 67 camaro 72 chevelle?
Now maybe you can settle this dilemma I have.
What is a better purchase and why?
Camaro 1967. modified 350 (heads, cams, lifters, ect.) w/ automatic 4:11 gears i think. car made for some 1/4 mi use. but it has rust around the typical places. you have no money after you'll have to work on it *** money and time allows.
or
Chevelle 1972 original 307 one owner. real base type, bench seat, needs little body work. leaves you with some change? ready to drive

Well I want a cool car that has some value to it. Also something both cars can do is have me and my kids work on it as they get older.
So really both cars can do it.
Camaro is over built for the street I think.
Chevelle is under built. but seriously its so stock. even has the hub cap steelies and vinyl top.
I need to be realistic. I know it takes money to do things. But I'm not planning on dumping a lot of money into the cars. I'm going to hold on to it as long as possible. I'm going to look at it more of an investment with no intent to sell. But plan for the worst.

Im biased towards the camaro but chevells like that are impossible to find
Even if its a base car snap it up they are climbing up in value too only as oucant find a nice 70s anything anymore and noones messed with it yet thats always a +. Cant go wrong great looking front end plus you can tuck a ton of rubber under them. Most parts are avaliable repop btw

Used to be 307 cars were avoided like the plague. Now you cant find a sound original car of the era period youd be surprised what they go for now.
One of the snappiest or responsive cars I ever drove was a stock 2 bbl 307 Chevelle, 71 or 72. Those A bodies are really climbing up in value even the Caminos 73 up believe it or not.
Really hard to go wrong

Cant go wrong with either car, really. I would go with whatever has a cleaner body/frame. Body/resto work is much more than spending some $$ on engine mods (unless you're looking to get crazy which is sounds like you're not). From what you posted it sounds like the Chevelle would be the better buy providing both cars are similarly priced.

love the 60s body style. If it's going to be a project car for down the road, take the camaro. If it's to drive now and your willing to do the rear now then camaro otherwise I'd say the Chevelle.

Note on 4:11. I made the mustache many years ago putting those in my 78 z28 camaro. They are not the gears you want for street driving or highway driving.

Not sure what this mustache is. But yes I know these tall gears suck. I have 373s I'm my stang and God knows what in my v8 240z.
240z has a 350 with 350 trans. Does 50mph @ 2800 rpm. The stang is just a little better.
Both are horrible daily cars. I but great from a light. 😃
Let you guys know how it goes.

Sometimes a car that hasnt passed through too many hands and been modded is a safer bet. Sure stuff will be old and need to be gone through but too many these days god only knows whats been done
Muscle Factory Year one and others sells about every part you could ever need for it. Some of it is real good some not so great (like dash switches/controls)
