No performance increase for 2017 CTS-V
I was Thinking there might be a power bump for the 17Z after the Zl1 came in at an "estimated" 640 which usually goes up nearing production, but since the V stayed at 640 im not sure about a power bump for 17'. prob just more cameras lol

For me it needs AWD before it needs either of those, because then I'd buy one. Not going to happen behind the LT4, but I wish it would. Other than the annoying haptic center stack, great car!
Audi can do it. Come on GM, make me buy American for the fourth time in 2 years!

I'm seriously shopping for a 4 seater and I was holding off on the hopes that Cadillac would wake up and put a manual back in the CTS-V. Scratch that one off my list.

This.
Well, AMG, Maserati, Panamera and JagR have never had a manual. Current S6 and the RS7 aren't available with a manual. M just killed off the third pedal in the M5/6. So you're out of manual options at this point for performance midsize sedans.

"Put a stick in it!" [Sells 13 of them]
"Build a wagon!" [Sells 150 of them]
Meanwhile maybe its just the area I live in, but we are heavily biased towards AWD vehicles, and I know its tough to do at those power levels, but Audi does it all day. Heck, license it from VW/Audi/Lambo/Bugatti for all I care.

Exactly, Europeans are doing it with success. Jeep is moving a tank with 475hp with AWD surely caddy can figure it out., granted the jeep has european engineering mixed in.

There's a case to be made for AWD adding weight, cost and complexity. It can also hurt handling with more weight and would certainly disrupt the really awesome steering feel the current CTSv enjoys. Like anything else, there are positives, but there are certainly negatives.
The lack of AWD doesn't seem to hurt the CTSv lap times much does it? Also interesting that it undercuts its competition by a good $10,000

Other people may want a more track capable car, I want streetlight to streetlight sedan dominance.

A little bit more cash for a new E63 AMG and you get a faster car as well.. The new cadillac hasn't seen the Nurb and I doubt it will if GM has a say.. Don't get me wrong, I love the new CTsV and Z06 but for $90k there are alota other good choices that oerformedwell better

True, but the CTS for me is a powerful sedan for going to the mall, not a track car (I know it's a capable vehicle). So I'd want it up-armored for urban duty, not stripped down for the track.

I see no reason why the CTSv will be slow on the Ring. That track doesn't really favor AWD in any particular way.
Car and Driver's test on the VIR track
2016 Cadillac CTS-V:
2:56.8
2014* Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-model:
3:00.1
*2014 E63 is essentially the same car as 2016

I was just bringing to light that the certain negatives of AWD that you brought into the discussion don't seem to slow down the GT-R .. Also the E63 is 75hp shy of the V.. You brought facts into my opinion spew, not fair..
