The Macs are really the next step up from our Z's in overall performance. Nothing else in between that gap that can go, stop, or turn as well. Not your pcars (not even GT3RS) or your garden variety Fcars (F488) seem to be able to do more than a Z on a track. Even cars like Aventador are too narrowly focused for straightline speed.

But the Macs seem to be able to take the entire performance envelope and shift it up a notch across the board. They really are in a separate league. Truly great drivers cars and now we see that they can absolutely toast a quarter mile.
Scott - with every car, I have these ideas in my head of going to the track. Signing up for a day at Lime Rock or meeting some other board members to drive at Jersey Motorsports Park. I never do. It is a big check to write to then not be able to show up because something else (almost always work-related) comes up. And to have someone else take off from work to go only to tell him the night before that you have a client emergency and can't go just sucks.

Just driving the 570S on the road and driving it pretty briskly, I think it has amazing feel. Very direct. You feel as if you are sitting over the front axle. The steering wheel talks to you and the brakes really haul the car down. You can see so well out of it, and there is just something about a mid-engine layout - quick directional changes don't upset the car.

BUT - the tires, especially the fronts, are very narrow at 225 mm. It will never have the lateral grip of a Z with super fat sticky MPSC2s. But, I think it is easier to put the power down sooner with the Mac because of its weight over the rear and the inherent lag that lets you nail the throttle without dropping a truckload of torque on your rear tires and breaking traction.

I think this car would be fun to track, but it wasn't made for the fastest lap time. That's what the 650 and 675 are for. Again - this is from a guy that hasn't been on a racetrack with a passenger car in about 4 years. So take it for what it is worth.

Can only imagine. Few in town here one is a womans DD. They sound so good...almost tame but "ya gotta know better" type thing
Funnest types of cars to own power/weight/specs be damned. Theres more to it than that anyway some will never figure it out when comparing a car like yours to engineering of a Chevy

Awesome car impressive time, enjoy. That is moving for a stock car, heck even a well modded one.

you dont trap 135mph with 560bhp even at 3000#....one of the digits in the equation is innacurate.

I have noticed that at the same track with the same car and driver from running one lane to the other lane the mph maybe "consistently" higher in one of the lanes.

Also "maybe" just maybe due to consistently better track prep, location, etc. some tracks seem to be where a lot of records are set like MIR, Atco, for example.

I have never been to Atco but the "last" time I was at MIR (2011 track rental) with my at the time 24 year old air condition "V6" street Buick. I managed a 9.94 et. on MT drag radials.

LIGHT BURNOUT!

Zero psi foot brake launch on that run at 22 psi of boost and I had approx. 8 more psi of boost I could of dialed in but I knew that the drive train would not of taken it. Car is still in great shape.

You may want to try this. I bought an aFe-1 because I saw another 15 stage 1 A8 at the track the same day I was running putting up 2 mph more than me. I was running the OEM air box with a oem replacement Green air filter. Well I installed the afe with the "blue" high flow filter, it slowed me down (et & mph) compared to what I was running. Then I remembered that he was running the "grey" low flow filter in his "first addition" afe housing that day so I changed to the low flow filter; Well it looks like I got back my mph (slightly higher) so I'm stick-en with the afe and I like the looks better too.

PS:
A 1.53 60 ft. on the stock MPSS tires so far at Capitol raceway.

Oh, and I have now been 133+ mph in the Z06 too, but for some reason I'm not getting that close to the Buick's et at it's 133+ mph.

Thread below on the 1.53 60 FT. time.

Compared to a C7 Z06 at 3524 pounds, I guess you could call the 570S "ultralight", but the fact that the 570S weighs almost the same as my 2009 Z06 means it still weighs as much as a C6 Z06 Corvette at ~3186 pounds.

Actually, each one of those horses under the 570S's hood has to move more weight than each one of the horses under the C7 Z06's hood, and does it much quicker.

Default 1.53 60 ft.

If interested I posted my thread/link on the 1.53 60 ft. above (#54) where that 133+ mph is also mentioned.

Thanks. I fell in love with the styling of the 570S when I first saw it at the NY Auto show last year. Was never a fan of the styling of the 12C, nor did my dealer have any for me to drive.

I left shortly after you did. My drive wasn't as long as yours, but it still was long enough for me to want to hit the road before the traffic hit. Your car looked great and sounded amazing. Nothing like the sound from that motor. Amazing. Still kicking myself for not making it to Atco with my C7Z.

Will check in the next time I head down there. Hopefully, you'll be there too.
