Z06 to 991 TTS.

Z06 to 991 TTS.
Sorry guys, I jumped ship.
991TTS - definitely feels not as fast and brutal as the Z06; sounds nowhere as good, a rather boring ride. Putting it side by side, however, you can see the how much of a better build quality the 991TTS is compared to the Z06.
I'll be back once the C8 Zora is release.
And that is Gerald, the salesman.

It may not be a 'Z' but it is still a very fine ride. Congratulations!

Nice ride!

You say it all with "boring" and my reason for going the other way.
However, with that said, each of us owes it to ourselves, money permitting, to experiment with all upper end cars. Who knows what fits any one of us? Enjoy. Best

Scraping the splitter.
My Z06 has been sitting next to my 991 TT for over a year. I honestly don't see a huge difference in build quality. The Porsche has orange peel. It's had to have far more warranty work than my Z06 (replaced blower motor, replaced deployable front chin spoiler, replaced AWD control module, reprogrammed/update active aero software...and I haven't even tracked it). The only thing my Z06 was at the dealer for was the A8 TCM software update. The leather work on the seats and door panels seems nicer in the Porsche. I suspect that it's a result of noticably more firm seat cushions and console, armrest, dash and doorpanel backing material. The Porsche steering wheel seems cheap compared to the Z06. But the Porsche is very solid and it seemingly does everything very well. Truly a great car. But so is the Z06.

For some reason, when I sat in the P, I felt more like home than the Z06. The other thing that I notice is the CF on the P is nicer than the Z06 because it's gloss.
I did launch control this morning and seriously, it didn't impress me. Feels less excited than the Z06 when launch. Maybe because there is no drama involved, just hit the gas and go.
I have the P sport steering wheel, I think it's more elegant but much less functional. No button to control anything.

Snorman, how much does it cost to replace the front chin spoiler? I notice that my was damage from the previous owner. going to talk to the dealer to see if they would do it for me for free.

IMO LC is pretty brutal. My car has cut 1.5 60's, which is just crazy for a stock car on small Pirelli PZeros.
My car has the multifunction wheel because I don't like the base Sport wheel. The spokes are cheap plastic and you can feel the edges, but the center of the multifunction wheels is pretty cheesy too. Just my own opinion, as lots of people love Sport wheel. The newer wheels in the 911 seem nicer.

I have a 991 TTS and a '16 Z. Both are truly great cars. My 991 is pushing just shy of 700 HP...so it's pretty quick, faster than my Z (for now), but not dramatically so.
TTS is a better DD, because of the comfort and room available in it. Paint on my Z is pretty bad (typical GM)...and the TTS is at the other end of the spectrum. Leather in the TTS is much better and I believe it will wear better as well.
Build quality and finishing on the Z isn't as good as the 991. There was black tape left over a good part of the rear suspension, a rad hose not clipped in correctly and I have a touch oil slightly sweating at the seal just behind the filter...
Z has a more modern and sleeker interior...but is a tight fit for me at 6'2", whereas I could have a party in the 991. The 991 feels more solidly planted, but the Z sounds so much better.
The stock exhaust in the Z is insane...with no need to buy any aftermarket exhaust. It roars under throttle and yet, I don't hear a thing when cruising. It has zero drone. No aftermarket exhaust does that.
I could go on and on, nitpicking one over the other...but I won't.
I enjoy each one as much as the other...and consider myself very fortunate that I have both
The Z is a bargain at half the price of the 991...performance being neck and neck with the 991.
But I am glad I have a 991 TTS. Both get equal attention.

Seeing a Z that looks like mine is cool, seeing both of them in the same color scheme is awesome...

Scraping the splitter.
I gotta' ask...why buy a non-Z07 package car with CCB and then spend the $$$ to put the front splitter and Z06 end plates and side skirts on the car?
Also what is up with that grille?

Both great rides. I have looked at the P Turbos for a few years on and off., Went with the new Z and love it. I had a 2010 911 S Non Turbo and felt at that time the P car build quility was much better, But now after the new C7 came out and looking at several and driving a hand full of 2015 Porsche Turbos, The new Z has closed the Gap on build quality. Congrats on your new ride..
