However a gently used certified pre-owned CTS V Sport for very similar money to a new SS is hard to pass up IMHO.
Of course, you can then score a gently used CPO SS for a nice low price too

im curious about the reliability (im sure only time will tell) of the V Sport (and ATSV as well). GM doesnt have a great track record on turbocharging so for now i would think an LS based motor would probably be better long term.

I get your point, but I doubt the SS is going to depreciate almost $30k in a year or two. Both great cars. I'd have no problem daily driving an SS or a CTS V Sport.

Both cars are 2015, similar mileage (7k vs 10k, same same really).

SS is listed at $38,600 (MSRP new $48) - depreciated about 20%

CTSv sport is listed at $49,700 (MSRP new $71) - depreciated about 30%

So, you're right. The CTSv sport takes the bigger depreciation hit. Hard to go wrong with either car The Caddy isn't CPO, but a 1 year old car has a ton of original warranty left, I really don't care about CPO. The question is... is the Caddy $11,000 better than the Chevy?

Good post, lionsfan. I guess it's a personal decision on whether the V Sport is worth $11k more than a Chevy SS all other things considered. it would be a fun decision to try to make though as both cars are sweet.
