Default 2017 ZL1 Ring Time...What ?

Wikipedia listing 2017 ZL1 Ring time of 7:23.77

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...eife_lap_times

Not expected and certainly not official but could GM be putting info in discreet places to build expectation? Be your own judge but I believe the time is possible judging from video of the new car.

** 2017 ZL1 Ring time of 7:23.77 time was removed since this was posted for reasons unknown.

Did The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Run A 7:23 Nürburgring Lap?

I would think that time would be for the new Z/28.

Comparing videos of both testing at the ring, the ZL1 looks quicker, is definitely louder and being driven harder. The latest videos of ZL1 I believe were shot in late May. The Z28 shown on video is definitely NA and sounds like a larger motor but an exhaust could be the only sound difference. All 2018 Z28 videos I've seen are manual 6 speeds....at least so far.

Can't anyone edit the wiki? Go put in 5:29 for the Z06.

How the heck is the Z28 supposed to beat the ZL1 around a track?
An LT4 vs. the 7.0L?
We're talking well over 100hp difference....

My thoughts exactly.....unless something new and powerful lurks under the hood of the Z28. If it is new and powerful it may be powering the last front engine Corvette rumored to be a cut above the C7 ZO6. The C7’s final iteration is rumored to be at the 2017 NAIAS when a mega-power version is revealed. Corvettes always get the new goods first and the timing would be about right. 100% speculation based on rumors and hearsay.

Unless the Z28 will end up weighing 3,000 lbs., I am completely puzzled by this.
We already know this next gen Camaro was put on a big-time diet...

A TT maybe??
But that wouldn't make a lot of sense...
As you implied, new tech should/would first appear in the Vette, not the Camaro.

6th Gen Camaro ZL1 A10 in red and ZL1 M6 in blue. The A10 looked very fast. The time posted on Wikipedia seems quite believable to me especially after watching the videos.

Did The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Run A 7:23 Nürburgring Lap?

BY SEAN SZYMKOWSKI — JUL 7, 2016

Wikipedia isn’t the best to source, but we’re going to do it anyway.
Our friends at CamaroNews noticed a Wikipedia page for Nürburgring lap times had been updated to include the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

The time? 7:23.77.
If this time is legitimate, it would be an incredible improvement over the previous Camaro ZL1, which clocked a 7:41 time. Even more impressive is the time would sit one rung lower than the time clocked by the McLaren F1 in 1993, and faster than plenty of quick motoring metal.
General Motors or Chevrolet has not come forth to confirm the time, but the time frame does match up. The Camaro team has been in Germany throughout the summer to continue honing the 2017 Camaro ZL1 and continuing development of the car.
