Porsche drops B6 for a B4 engine in the 718 Boxster / Cayman!
Hello internet,
as same of you might have noticed: Porsche did drop the wonderful 3.4 B6 engine (315 PS) for a 2.5 Turbo B4 (350 PS) in the new Porsche 718 Cayman S and 718 Boxster S. I was very, very skeptical, if that could work for me. I hoped, that sound and engine response would be okay...
...and now I had the chance to drive the 718 Boxter S. And boy, that engine surprised me! The car puts about the same numbers in my RACELOGIC Performance Box (10Hz GPS) (0-62mph / 0-125mph) as a C6 LS2. And due to the VTG-charger as well as several very nice details, throttle response is amazing, especially between 4,000 and 7,500 rpm.
Just a little sound check and 0-155mph acceleration
(0-62 = 0-100km/h / 0-125 = 0-200km/h)
