Default New car valuation after 6 months

I there a rule of thumb for percentage loss of a new car's value after a few months?

Wife's new car was totaled, and insurance co is really low balling its ACV (Actual Cash Value). Ready to go to private appraiser, but don't want to pay his fee, if there's not much more to be gained..

Curious..
Thanks..

I've realized that its generally about 20%.

Figure most people are getting 10-15% off new if they are using a large volume dealer, forum vendor of all makes/models, etc.

Then take off another 5-10%... 20% off MSRP for say a 3-6 month car is pretty ball park from my experience.

What % were you getting hit with?

What are comparable used cars such as your wife's year and mileage (if there are any) selling for compared to what they are offering you

Depends on the car and also what you paid. I wouldn't just go off MSRP. For example, if it was a full size, domestic truck, no way in the world you're going to get close to MSRP since there's no chance you paid anywhere close to MSRP (and the insurance co. knows this too)

There's no comparable cars in my area..
Ours was a fully optioned car, and the comparable ones they showed us on a print out were essentially all base cars about $10k less...

2015 Lexus RC 350 AWD 4k mi

I'm done with all this (been since April), want to put it to bed, so I took their final offer (prior to apprasial/arbitration)
Ended up at 12% of MSRP

Not thrilled, but its a 7 month old, and they add sales tax, so for a (possible) extra $1-2k, not worth the hassle...
