Default My 1970 GMC Longhorn

99% done my restoration; it's a 1970 GMC Sierra Grande Custom Camper (Longhorn), with its original big block, buckets, AC, WC mirrors, and other options.

I took it right down to the two bare frame rails; except for the trans internals and rear end (and paint) I did the truck myself, having touched literally every fastener.

It's currently wearing the original wheels and NOS hubcaps, and there's another photo with H2 wheels, I go back and forth, though I actually prefer the steelie and caps.

So did my Dad! I preferred blue, so when I went to restore one, that's what I bought, but ours was dark green growing up...

Great looking truck. The H2 wheels look much better than I expected.

On paper, not that much, I think they're rated for about 7800 lbs. That's with a big block too!

So cool! I'd definitely keep the old steelies on that truck...anything else doesn't fit with the original style restoration

I don't care for the roof lights but otherwise, absolutely gorgeous! My late brother had the Chevy version wth a small block. Great truck.

Beautiful truck! In '71, dad bought a used '69 Suburban with dual tanks and AC.....we drove that thing across the country visiting National Parks for several summers. Great old trucks, great memories.
