Default Coworker bought a Mustang today

She has been eyeing my vette for sometime, but for some reason, she bought a mustang today. I'm pretty sure I know why, and although I wouldn't have for the reason I think she did, the feature in the sideview mirror that projects a mustang on the ground at night was pretty cool.

Wouldn't it be sweet to walk up to your vette at night and see a picture of a stingray or "jake" projected to the payment below the drivers door.

There are projector lights available on the electronic auction site, but they do require manual installation in the bottom of the door for the Vette. I had them on my BMW, and they projected a very bright and clear BMW logo onto the ground (like a puddle light), and got many positive comments. I do kind of miss those

Andy at the Double AA, a forum vendor here can hook you up. If I remember right, I think he can make custom images too:

You can buy a set of puddle lights which are installed in the bottom of the door, so when you open the door the image of the Corvette logo hits the ground.

You can find them on eBay at a cost under $30.00 for a set. The logo inside the case is custom fit for each brand. The vendor is located in Chicago.

I put these on my 2009 Jaguar XKR and they look stunning at night when the car doors are open.

Next will be the "bat" signal projector hooked to the garage designed to come on when leaving at night as the garage door opens.

"the reason I think she did, the feature in the sideview mirror that projects a mustang on the ground at night was pretty cool."

I find it difficult to believe projecting an image is a deciding factor when purchasing a car.

Why not?

Absolutely needing a particular color and number of cup holders do this very thing for a lot of folks

Evidently, some foo-foos are worth it.

Cup holders are standard equipment in all cars. Availability of a certain desired color has been well documented as a major putchasing decision. Mirror projection is NOT. Show me hard data to the contrary then I will believe it. A guess is not data.

I would not buy a Corvette if it was my only car. To me the Mustang is much more practical.

I was about to reply with "it's a chick thing".
Thank you Lisa.

I'm dumbfounded on a regular basis at the amount of money my lovely wife spends on certain products.

I like all the cool cars. Why put on blinders? But what I spent my money on was a vette.

Similar scenario, I guess... My co-worker was very interested to get a corvette. But after I got mine, for some reason, he is looking to buy a Dodge Challenger. Maybe it's too hard to get the color and model that he wants on a 'vette.

A friend of mine loves my Vette to death. I mean TO DEATH. Bought a new Camaro SS instead and couldn't be happier. Why??? Because quite frankly he wanted a sports coupe that had a backseat for his daughter's car seat. Since he is a single dad.. when he has his daughter the passenger seat is empty and the car seat fits perfect. Not to mention the Camaro SS was about $20K less

Mustangs are nice cars. It's intimidating to spend that much money on a car, like a Vette, that's not very practical. Some folks just can't get past that. Maybe she'll come around on her next purchase.
