Hello My Friends
I have been really enjoying the posts here on the board, especially the Mid life Crisis thread. So here is a story about a friend of mine. We often talk about cars and have discussed my new C7 a bit. My friend just retired from a career in the aerospace field. He is not rich but is pretty well off and a while back said he wanted to get a Vette when he retired. Saw him recently and he was driving….you guessed it, a Prius. When he related the fact that his wife decided that he was getting a Prius and not a C7 I felt so bad for my friend I didn't know what to say. He seemed rather embarrassed by it all. I'm 61 and have never been married, but I do what I want when I want, and have had a few cool cars. Go with what you got.

I would never tell my spouse that he couldn't have something. If you are a man, and forbid your wife to do something, that's borderline emotional abuse, if you a woman, and you tell your husband he can't do something, that's pussywipping.

My wife could not care less what I drive - I'm on my sixth Corvette (600,000 miles), 30+ thousand in a Ferrari.... have owned a LOT of cars over the years - a LOT....

Mt wife doesn't care what I drive. She only wishes I'd trim my fleet of 12 vehicles. (And she's right).

Leaving SF one night a blacked out Prius passed me at nearly a hundred so I kept up for a bit and he hit 111 mph! Didn't know they'd go that fast. I think if I lived in Manhattan (and actually wanted to drive in NYC) or even any other large city where I had to do a lot of slow driving in heavy traffic I'd probably get some sort of hybrid. Just makes sense. I'd prefer the height of an SUV in traffic though. For (any) other kind of driving there's no substitute for horsepower.
