Default 2017 GT Mustang

Thinking of buying one in a month or two. Will not track it. Mostly just a daily fun driver and the occasional road trip. It is significantly cheaper than a V8 Camaro.
Appreciate any input, either good or bad.

I know it isnt a Corvette. Already have that part covered.

This past July for the same reason and intention that you want to buy one I bought my 2016 Mustang GT in Deep Impact Blue, performance package with 3.73 gears and manual tranny and LOVE IT!! Highly recommend great car and styling!!!!!

I thought about getting a Camaro to play with but after sitting in it I just didn't like the feel of it. And while the 6th Gens do look better they are still too similar to the 5th.

I grew out of my Mustang phase a long time ago when I found the all mighty LS1 in the early-mid 2000s.

If I had to choose now for a fun toy other than my Viper or a Z06, I'd highly consider the VW Golf R and a few mods.

Wanted to add this to my post OP I have a great idea for you. There are more than a few Ford Dealers across the Country who will install Roush Superchargers on the Mustang GT that will make between 650 and 725HP all while maintaining its full factory warranty. Usually this is done on low option Mustang GTs bringing the out the door price with the Supercharged installed to about the same price as a highly optioned Mustang GT like I bought.

My dealer offers to install the Roush Supercharger and I am considering doing this for around $11,000 my car would make 725 HP, faster than a C7 Z06 or Hellkitty, all while maintaining its full factory warranty.

Thanks guys. I didnt realize that about the SC, good tip. My current C6 is SC'ed so not sure if I am looking for another car with one.
However, which transmission in the GT is rated for the most power? The auto or 6 speed manual?

Can anyone point me to a good Mustang forum so I can start reading about them?

Sorry, I am not involved with any Mustang Forums but can tell you test drive the car and I think it will sell itself.

When the new body came out in 2015 it was one of the major car magazine I believe Motortrend's car of the year. Ford also brought in an Italian designer to give the interior a makeover and they hit it out of the park.

Also, when the lights are turned on the car the dashboard and lighting associated with the interior is really sweet, I liked the interior way better than my old 2016 Corvette Z06.

Good luck, I think if you test drive one I believe you end up buying it.

Ford had been hitting it out of the park lately. The SHO, Focus RS and ST, Fiesta ST, Raptor, Ford GT, Mustang, and Shelby GT350 are all badass cars. Well done Ford. They must have the most performance models of nearly anyone not from Italy.

I have had a few as rentals. First off, they're terrible Mustangs. They don't drive like a Mustang should and are the worst generation of Mustang IMO.

However, they are FANTASTIC cars. Super comfortable, gorgeous inside and out, great to drive, great ride. It's an absolutely fantastic sports car. It's more M3 than Mustang now, and to some that might be a good thing. It's an amazing car, but I feel like it's lost a bit of its identity as well. It's not the raucous burnout machine of old, it's an efficient sports car that doubles as a great daily driver.

There is no better convertible on the market for someone who wants a stylish top down car, and doesn't need to flash wealth to everyone with the most expensive car they can affford.

You rented a GT or a V6? Doesnt sound like the GT Mustang I bought back in September. As far as a forum for the 6th generation Mustang, http://www.mustang6g.com/ . I looked at the Camaro and just didnt like what they did with the side view of the car, looks like it's been crushed and every review says the visibility out of the car is bad.

You'll like it. I enjoy my S197 5.0 6 speed 3.73. If you don't change the shifter at least change the bracket.

It looks like you are parked at GATs?

Yes sir LOVE the Mustang and yes you are right I am parked at GATS and probably go their at least once a week during the wintertime (honestly) for shooting and shopping.

I joke with the employees and Managers at GATS that since I am there so often on my spare time in the winter I may as well work there part time (some day no doubt I will, just b/c I am so passionate about both the fast and cool cars and firearm hobby of mine).

Took advantage of these clean and dry roads here in the west suburbs of Chicago (and b/f the chit hits the fan again this week) I was just at GATS yesterday in my 2010 Viper ACR (my weekend warrior).

I was just at GATS last week. I don't get out often enough though.

I put this bracket on my car as it was on clearance. Made a big difference in shifting. I'd put some black lugs on your rims though.

If you see a red one in the lot that'd be me.

Dye in the wool Ford guy here.
I hate those cars! From it's Fusion front to its collapsed forward tail light panel.
There is nothing about the car that even looks like a Mustang.

Should update this thread. I ended up buying another Corvette. Base model C7 7M 1LT. After sitting in the GT I could not stand the location of the two main gauge clusters. No matter what my seating position was the steering wheel blocked some of the view to both gauge clusters. It would of drove me nuts so I passed.

I'm a Ford guy too. I have 5 Mustangs. I actually like the new ones. I'm seriously considering getting rid of my low mile Terminator for a new GT-350.

Yep.....Golf R with an APR Stage 3 will run circles around new C7s and all 5.0 Mustangs.

Any new A8 Stingray is just as fast as that stage 3 Golf R and from a roll will pull it with higher trap speeds. A modded vette like mine will have him thinking he bought a GTI by mistake

Yeah, but it's kind of like a big dude beating up grandma.

Duh, we expect the Corvette to beat up a VW. We should be impressed?

He already has a Corvette, wants something in addition.
