Honestly, I don't care if they make the Mustang a 1000 horsepower, or another other muscle car, such as the Charger/Challenger. They are nice cars and I am not knocking anyone who gets them, but they are not Corvettes. I think there is still something to say about handling, styling, and the wow factor that comes from a Corvette both new and old.

As mentioned previously.... it's good that everyone keeps upping the ante!!! Competition breeds better vehicles across the board!! Not sure why there is such hate for the Mustang, the 2015+ cars have a great chassis and are an absolute performance bargain. I agree that the Corvette has a bit more of a true sports car heritage but the Mustang has also been around for a long time and boasts a rich heritage as well.

No, the mustang and the camaro gets the 10 speed auto. The corvette still only gets 8. The corvette brand loyalist on this site are ridiculous. Think their sh*t somehow smell's different because they drive a corvette.

new mustang is cool. Just surprised the gt350 wasn't better than the camaro ZL1 since they cost about the same...

I'm sure the new mustang gt for 2018 will be impressive...

I like mustangs although I don't really want to own one.

No insult intended...just an opinion.

Seems most of the posters in this thread are Ford Mustang fans ...so welco,e to the site.

Better is aubjective. The GT350 still sells for over msrp typically, and the gt350r, if you can find one, sells WAY over msrp. The ZL1 doesn't have that sort of pull on people. The ZL1 maybe be faster, but heck, the Boss 302 was faster than the GT350 0-60, that really doesn't matter to buyers of the car.

The GT350 is a very special car, the kind that comes around very infrequently. It is better than the numbers imply, and is destined to be a modern classic.

Even at 460 HP, there is still the weight issue. I feel GM could easily answer with an LT1 bump, and probably will. Maybe a similar bump as the LS2 to LS3 bump. Time will tell....

Id say Ford just has harder core fans of the mustang. Look at used cobra prices. People just are willing to over pay for the limited mustangs. More so than the limited camaros. It's why I'll probably never buy another cobra. The price vs performance almost always loses to the corvette or camaro.

Well said

A huge reason I paid this car any attention was that it was getting rave reviews from non Ford/Mustang fanboys. There are many first time Ford owners who bought the the 350. Brand loyalists won't get it.

I enjoyed seeing the gt350r on the road the other day. Sounded great and it was a father son with the car being the sons....I could see the smile on their faces...

Cool ride..

As far as prices paid being more for a gt350 versus a ZL1? As making it somehow better because the gt350 cost more ? I don't actually see that as a plus...but that's just my opinion...

Paying over sticker doesn't make the car better...it just has a more anxious following ...

The track execution and performance advantage of the ZL1 has more merit to many enthusiasts and I look forward to hearing what insanity the hellcat demon brings.....

Great time to be an enthusiast....all three American brands offer amazing product...

Obviously being on a corvette site your going to find a greater preference towards GM products.....I wouldn't act surprised or insulting with the **** doesn't stink nonsense...we are all car enthusiasts and we are entitled to have a brand preference...

That said...the gt350R is cool as hell....

I definitely respect the choice of all three.....American sports coupes that are amazing performers...I'd be proud to own anyone of them.....preference being the ZL1 ...then gt350r and then the hellcat demon (soon to be revealed)
