2016 Cadillac CTS-V performance with tire upgrade?
Most of the gen 3 V's 2 seat competition uses cup 2's or some other tire that is substantially better than the super sports that come on the car. If Cadillac offered it or someone put them on the car to make things equal, how much better could it perform? It did a 1:38.52 at laguna Seca and a 1:30.32 at willow springs, both by motor trend. What could it do with cup 2's?
The only other 4 door car I can think of that come close the the V on a track is the new 2017 Porsche Panamera turbo. It posted a 7:38 on the Nurburgring. We saw them testing the V there but they never posted a time. What do you think it could post there on stock tires and on the cup 2's?

Probably somewhere less than 10 minutes.
There is no reason for a luxury sedan to cone with tires like that. Putting tores that are basically track only tires on a car only serves to fake the performance the car is capable in numbers. People who actually own and drive these cars aren't going to want track tires on their daily that only last 10k miles, if their car comes with them they will replace them with longer lasting tires quite quickly.
