Beautiful Day to show off the Pantera
My son took some great pictures of my 71 Pantera at the Fountain Hills AZ Concours last Saturday. I was just another beautiful day in the desert. I just love driving the old girl, the 351 Cleveland just rumbles along.
For those with sharp eyes, yes that is a privately owned Cobra gunship in the background, what a machine it is!
Any other Pantera owners here on Corvette Forum?

I have the same soft spot for a Pantera as I do for a Miura.
There has been one in our area for sale a while now. The owner says he is too old to get under it and work and maintain it. Curious how hard are they to maintain and run?

The biggest issue on these cars is RUST. Mine is a low mile, California and Arizona car, so no rust issues. Engine is easy to maintain, 351C, nothing special, walk into NAPA and tell them you have a 71 Boss 351 Mustang, if you ask for parts for a Detomaso Pantera, their eyes glaze over....There are about a half dozen specialty parts suppliers that have Pantera parts, some of the stuff gets pretty pricey, low supply, low demand, they only made about 7000 of these cars over 4 years. They drive very easy, 5 speed, power brakes, very low to the ground, honestly way more fun than my early Corvettes.

My 73L Pantera, bought it for $9800 in 1973, sold it in 1979 for 18,500 and commissioned the building of our sailboat. Might buy another one if the C8 is not midengined

Nice looking Pantera! I've always liked the looks of those cars and it is still one of the cars on my list to drive! I may look for one after my daughter graduates college.
