We bought a 08 Volkswagen GTI - only 1 key
Well,
We looked at a Volvo S80 but the transmission issues mentioned to me made us think twice.
What we found though was a fairly low mile 2008 Volkswagen GTI. I drove it, and my son loves it. He paid for it out of his savings. I am damn proud of that!!!
However, the car is not without it's faults. Both front fog lights are broken, but that was $50.00 for a pair of new fog lights and 6000K LED bulbs, should be here next week.
The worst thing, in my opinion, is that it only came with the one key and key fob. I have read horror stories how it costs an arm, leg, and left ******** to replace.
I found a pair of them on Flea Bay for like $40.00 but it is the damn Immobilizer chip inside that needs to be coded at the dealer? That is supposed to be like 300 bucks?
Anyone have experience with this?

I called the dealer. $270 for a key and to program it. WTF, Over?
I can buy 2 key fobs for my Corvette from the dealer for less than that.
