Default Any GM techs...Question about a 2016 Malibu

An employee of mine has a 2016 Malibu 1.5 liter turbo.

He doesn't like that it shuts down at a stop light.
Can this be rectified some how?
Thanks in advance for any help.

this dreadful feature, courtesy of government regulations, cannot be turned off on the Malibu. I have heard that shifting into manual mode and/or letting up on the brake pressure just before coming to a complete stop will prevent auto off from engaging

In some cars if you leave the A/C on(not in ECO mode) it will prevent the auto stop/start from operating and some have reported that light pressure on the brake pedal when coming to a stop will have the same effect. Seems strange that there is no disable button on the dash as many people find it to be quite annoying and puts alot of wear on the starter. I'm guessing GM didn't add the button as with the system disabled the advertised mileage and emissions specs would be inaccurate.
