Jag F-Type
I have noticed how the price of the early model Jag F's have hit levels where it's right in line with Vettes of similar lineage. Granted it's tough to apples to apples with the different price points/options but it is a reasonable alternative. Did any of you consider it or are considering it? My 2 1/2 reasons why not were (and silly maybe):
A. Dependability and repair costs. Despite the improvements Jag is still a
British product with the (fair/unfair) concerns of problems and costs.
B. I have a room full of Vette paraphernalia (don't laugh, what a garage
sale if I ever did)
B.1 Buying American; not the tipping point but still a consideration, my
wife drives a Prius.....
And You?

I had a '14 F-Type convertible (first MY), but traded it only because I missed having a manual transmission.
It's a really nice car, and mine was flawless during my 2-year ownership period. I thoroughly loved the car.
JLR quality and reliability compares favorably w/ BMW and Audi these days. The old perceptions of Jaguar quality are antiquated.
If you're into the exhaust note as your soundtrack, it is the sweetest one south of $200K.

No, the manual is only available with the V6 models and was first offered for '16. All V8s are ZF8 autos.
However, it is the best non-DCT auto on the planet. Unlike the A8, it gets very high marks from everyone, and has experienced no mechanical problems.

I seriously considered an F-Type R, but as mentioned, you can't get it with a manual transmission and that was a must-have for me. Love the car though! A friend has a '15 with the Quicksilver exhaust and it sounds even better than the stock exhaust!

I've had my 2016 F Type R for a year now. It currently has about 4100 miles on it. Not a single issue so far. It came with a 5 year warranty and service agreement. For those missing a manual, all I can say is try one out in dynamic mode with the paddles and listen to the exhaust notes. You'll forgive it for not having a manual. These cars launch like a rocket with the AWD and the boost coming from the SC.

Jag reliability isn't what it used to be...... It's come a long way and problems are much less frequent.

Great looking car, the SC V8's are pretty quick but it doesn't have the punch in your face looks like the C7 does.

As much as I hate to say it, I agree with the above. F-Type, especially the R, are actually pretty darn nice and they sound incredible.
