Dodge is giving us weekly updates on the new Demon, lots of hidden messages all over the videos, some suggest it will have 800-900hp. Love this approach, are you listening GM? How about doing the same thing about the ZR whatever and the mid engine! Its a good bet that great things are coming soon to your friendly GM dealer....lets not forget about Ford too, they proved they can make a super car in the basement, impressive task! The next Mustang is sure to have Eco Boost power and hopefully not just the V6 and more than the GT350. Act soon when they come out as big brother is getting ready to scold us again and take them all away to be replaced by battery power The USA

Looks pretty quick also. Here's a dash shot which may show elapsed times perhaps?

Why would GM try to carve out a niche in the advertising department that Dodge has a pretty dominant grip on? Dodge's commercials are top shelf. Doesn't make sense to sink millions of bucks into a commercial series for low volume ( by comparison to the whole sales fleet) performance cars when that's money better spent on developing them. There's a reason why a Dodge Viper is in a Dodge commercial for 8/10 a second and the rest of the commercial focuses on the performance sedans, not worth it to waste cubic dollars showing a vehicle a percentage of a percentage only care about.
People who buy the cars don't need a commercial to tell them to buy it, they already know what they want. A guy fixated on, "850+ horsepower from the factory!" is not going to give a crap about how fast a track Vette or Camaro run circles around much higher priced competition....and no commercial is going to convince them otherwise.
Never really understood the, "GM, are you listening?" posts. 15 years ago, the highest performing Camaro, an SS, made 330+ hp out of a tamer LS1, with a 10 bolt rear that would pop if it even tried to approach the horsepower of a Corvette Z06, which had 405. Since then, we have had 427 smallblocks in both, the standard V8 Camaro SS gets the same torquey 450+ hp LT1 as the Stingray, and both the ZL1 and Z06 churn out 650 hp. The Big Three are always listening, I think some just get caught up in the flavor of the month and pronounce anything not that flavor as, "asleep at the wheel".
Not to take anything away from the new Demon, can't wait to see how it shakes out.
