Why does it seem like every time I think about washing the car, it's either just rained so the road is wet or about to rain in a day or two. Make the rain stop!

It's that time of the year. Wash your car, enjoy how nice it looks - and prepare to get it nasty on the road as soon as it leaves the driveway. Better to drive it dirty than not drive it at all...

I would show you pics of mine but I am pretty sure they would ban me from the forum...

When I've drained the faucets for the winter, I'll take my bucket, soap and wash mitt to a do it yerself place, just don't use the "broom" they supply.

But is the prize worth the shame of owning the "dirtiest vette"?

Mine is even battered after running down the driveway by itself and popping a boulder, new clip is waiting for spring to be installed...

I don't think there is any shame in driving my vette. If it sat in the garage all the time it would be clean, after a daily dusting. But I have to wash it all the time, , But it's too much fun to drive, to let it sit.

see ya on the road

Yeah, well I left work early today and decided to wash my car when I got home. I was home by about 3:30, washing the car by 4:00, and it was pretty dark when I finished... hope I didn't miss any spots! There's only a "chance" (yeah right) of rain, this weekend - maybe I'll get lucky and it won't downpour on my way home from work tomorrow.

PS - The other way to look at it is - you can't really appreciate the nice coat of wax on the car unless it rains and all the water beads up!

If mine's already in need of a wash I just keep drivin' till it's going to be nice for a few days and then start over. Once it's dirty, it seem easier to drive in the rain, and not feel TO bad about it. Not driving? Not an option!

with how long it's been since I washed, it this round is taking some serious effort; only a couple hours a day to spend on the car doesn't make it any easier...

spent 3 hours detailing the inside last night..

spraying off the big chunks at the car wash on the way home and then giving here a nice hand wash tonight.

finish with a fresh coat of polish tomorrow morning before the toy run

yeay! I got my Vette washed! (finally!)
Yesterday, I washed my Silverado, and today after waiting for the hose
to defrost, I had the opertunity to jump on it.
Just drying up when the darkness fell. Takes me about an hour and a half, ( like to get every nook and craney plus a bum shoulder & lower back slows me a bit). I wanted to do the tires and take pictures, but that will have to wait cause I don't have a good night time camera.
Now I'm kicked back with a nice cup of Starbucks and get to surf the net! Hope all got to get out and enjoy the sun while it was here.
I only got about 20 miles in today, before the wash.
ciao!
