Default Did anyone else go to Goodguys Pacific NW Nationals?

This past weekend was the Goodguys Pacific NW Nationals at the Puyallup Fairgrounds. We had a blast! My husband showed his 71 Nova SS Baldwin Motion car for the first time, and ended up bringing home the "Mighty Muscle Car" Award.

We have not had so much fun in a long time! His was one of 60 awards out of 3,500 cars!

Did anyone else go? Did anyone else get anything? I wanna hear the stories!

Is that a real numbers matching Baldwin car? Did they put the baldwin/motion stripe on their nova's like they did with the C3 Vette?

Geeebuz... that is a cool car. I like the plain painted wheels.

I went on Friday -- the only time available for me -- big mistake. I pulled into the lot at 10:30 to find just five rows of cars. (I parked in the first row.) This year, there were no "senior" or "military" discounts, so shelled out $17 to see a couple hundered cars. The new large building had some vendors, but most of the floor space was vacant. I had to leave about 4pm, saw cars trickling in, and assume Saturday was the "full show." As for Friday, it was disappointing.

Yes, Friday was really only a registration day for most, as the majority of the cars were at Pacific Raceways for the drag competition (also a part of the Goodguys weekend). We and everyone else we know were there until almost midnight. The show was Saturday and Sunday. There were almost 3500 cars there then. Sorry that you showed up in the wrong place at the wrong time. The drags were spectacular and the show was a blast.

I went on Saturday as a spectator, but I missed your Nova. Out of 3,500 cars, I'm not surprised I missed one.

When I first got out of school in the early 70's I lived just a few miles down the road from Baldwin/Motion Performance in Freeport Long Island.

At the time I was driving a 73 Vega. Couldn't afford any of those Motion Performance cars

That Nova sure is nice looking

I went Sat. also, I think it was one of their better shows. I go every year and the overall quality of cars was great this year. I thought I saw all the cars but I missed that Nova, very nice.

That is the paint scheme that I am putting on the race car in the next year or so. Except I am seeing orange with black or white or silver stripes.

Love that pic.
