Default Local Place for Alignment....

Next week I'm having new shocks and sway bars installed along with lowering on the "stock bolts." (@Corvettes of Auburn)

I know I'll need an alignment afterwards, after the suspension settles. I forgot to ask if Corvettes of Auburn does alignments. (You'd think I'd know after going there for the past 5+ years)

Where do you guys takes your vettes for alignments?

When I had my C5 I took it to Les Schwab in Federal Way (on 16th across from the Super Walmart) after having it lowered. They did a good job and I was satisfied with their work.

Try Tru-line Bellevue. Byron really knows his stuff and is the best there is! It's well worth the drive.

Cantrell Motorsports, they did an outstanding job on my car including adjustment of the toe. Car has been spot on, would highly recommend.

Thanks for the recomendations guys.

There is a Les Schwab here in Puyallup. I have only been there a few times. They even fixed a flat on my brothers car after they had technically closed and were playing catch in the parking lot after closing. LOL

Dodd's Automotive
5708 South Tacoma way, Tacoma, WA 98465

Owner is a C5 'vert driver (recently sold it). His alignment tech did a great job on my '00 coupe... complete 4 wheel align... Edison Cafe next door for eats while you wait. I am very pleased. The tech has done many Corvettes.

Corvettes of Auburn does not perform alignments.

They recommended, and I went to TC Motorsports in Auburn.

They did a great job that was spot on including corner balancing.

However, I stopped by last week, nice weather, and their shop shop looked totally closed/out of business. Phone was off too.

Hope it's just a seasonal thing, they were a great asset.

It's not seasonal. I called last week and they said they were no longer doing alignments. He didn't say they were out of business, but why would you stop doing something you used to do quite well, if you weren't? He tried to suggest a couple places, but I did not want to go to the east side. Tacoma was closer for me.

Omni in Kirkland did mine. Very happy with their work, 14K on my new tires and they are wearing perfect.

If you go to TC Motor Sports web site, http://www.tcmotorsports.net, you will see they are closed for good. A real bummer since they did great work on alignments!

Let me know where you end up taking yours and if you are happy with the work!

Red Racer,
Tru-line Bellevue is well versed in hi-performance chassis work on special interest cars. Corvettes are included. Byron is honest, fair and will give you and your car the respect it deserves. I have used him, and his Dad before him, both personally & professionally, for over 40 years and have never been dis-appointed or mistreated. He's good and he's in demand, so you'll have to make an appointment, but you'll be handled promptly. Trust me... this is the guy you want to work on your car. He starts early and can be reached at 425-462-0013. He's just off 405 near Park Place Motors & Bellevue BMW. Mention my name and.... uhmmm, on second thought, maybe you should'nt...he might throw you out! (just kidding)

Well, the shocks, sways and lowering is done.

How many miles should I wait for things to settle before I get the alignment?

As I recall I waited a coupe of weeks or so before getting my alignment done to my C5 after having it lowered. Of course I drove it almost everyday too...

Not sure about the number of miles that was...prolly a couple hundred or so...

You can speed up the process by driving over speedbumps or on rough roads, but it is going to take a couple of hundred miles. Even though it'll still settle a little bit after that, it won't change the alignment enough to really make much difference.

I don't live anywhere near you guys, but this is a place I would use.
Are you seeking a perf alignment? (your settings?) or stock?

I used my local chevy dealer (to my specs) and it took them 3 trys to get it right.

As far as settling? I' say about once around the block. There really isn't anything that needs to settle, other than from having it jacked up.

Thanks Guys. I was thinking 100-200 miles before doing the alignment. Being in on site property management means I don't have a commute, so I have to find excuses to drive. LOL
