Default A Sad Day, But Time To Move On

I drove my beast down to Vancouver this morning to meet the new owner of my car and took the train home. So I am no longer the owner of a Corvette. Maybe a new one in the future, but not a C7 as the styling just doesn't do anything for me. I'll still be on the forum though.

That would have been a bittersweet drive down...

But you'd been thinking about it for some time - I'll be interested to see what you end up with next. Lot's of great choices out there.

It was time... Better the car than the wife, I always say

Take a few cruises and use the time to plan your next purchase. You'll look good in that new mid engine

I was drawing a blank for a time after I sold mine. Plan on taking in the season opener of RTC on April 2nd where you can check everything out. Sooner or later a plan will come together.

I know the feeling, Fred.

What are you planning to get before the C8 comes out?

Nothing right away. Maybe later this year I'll get me the new Mazda MX-5 to hold me over for a while. It looks like a fun car to drive and a true sports car.

Wow Fred.....I'm at a loss, such a cool car. Look forward to your next one for sure. PS, oldest Son is huge into Miata's (His is a street legal track car, his last Autocross with a 3rd gear straight he came within under a second of a newer Viper,he always finishes in the top 20-30%)

Nothing's better than spending your wedding anniversary with your buddies and cars, right?

Fred, hopefully you'll find yourself a new fun car, Vette or not, in the near future!

Another sign that the end is here.

Well, it's quite a car. Hope you got a bundle for it. Poodle Girl/Park Place, Pat with his Ubervagens and now you. At this rate my C6 Aero Lightweight (one of 42) will be the only really swell Corvette in our humble circle of misfits. Oh, well, it'll save a bit on my scotch bill.

So, what do you think about the new Mustangs?

The new GT350 is unreal, with Corvette sized wheels/tires, great suspension, and a flat plane crank its quite a car...

Hi John, Didn't mean to turn this into a thread re Mustangs, but, yes, the new GT350 and the companion GT350R are getting good press. The latter, I believe is priced at Corvette levels (probably more given the remarkable opportunity the friendly Ford dealers wlll have to mark it up (forgive me, I meant adjust market value) Given the choice I would rather have another Corvette. Like Fred though I am struggling with the styling and all the stuff I really don't need.

I suspect there will be no such thing as a C7 Aero Lightweight (0 of o)

Want to bet a new Mustang is on Fred's shopping list?

Just curious, what does a C6 Aero Lightweight look like? I googled it and there was just a bunch of pictures of C6s w/ Katech aero.

I don't know about Phil's C6 Aero, but in the late 60's we would race down at Golden Gardens. There was a silver 63 split window that was taking down everything from other Vettes to Roadrunners, GTO's, 442's,Chargers, Mustangs, Firebirds, Camaro's, Cuda's, you name it.
Legend has it the reason this Vette was so fast was because it had a thinner fiberglass body and was several hundred pounds lighter due to poor quality control. That was an amazing time, like now, with amazing cars. High school and college summer nights street racing in Seattle.
So to answer your question, it looks exactly like a C6

Back to topic...
Fred check out the new Fiat Abarth 124 Spider. I hear it has the MX-5 chassis.
