Yes, it's apparent that one can go through a set of rear tires in an afternoon.
Yes, the new interior is a welcome change, but will my fat *** feel the same way?
The "Rev Match" seems too gimmicky to me, but it can be turned off.
Not quite sure what to make of the 7-speed transmission?
What about some of the features we tend to take for granted? Is the sound system any better than in previous models? The cartoonish instrument panel, to me, harkens back to the early C4's, which GM eventually abandoned. Is the leg room better or about the same as the C6?
So, it's a world class sports car, huh? How do they measure that anyway? I recall a comparison test in some magazine years ago that was calling the C4 a world-class sports car and then put it up alongside the 280Z (ostensibly a WCSC too. Nothing wrong with that, I guess, since "world class" may have had some strict parameters back then, and it may be a moving target.
No mention of whether or not the removable roof panel provides any more room for luggage, etc? We can take long road trips in our C6, but my wife packs as if she's leaving me. Can't remove the top on our trips. Such a shame when cruising the PCH 1 from Leggett to SFO.
I know I seem to be "nit-picking", but the two words out of the reviewer's mouth that concern me the most are "All New". I hope GM is still not expecting their customers to do quality control for them.
My point being (like VIK TOY mentions) is that I'm liking the C7 more and more. I may in fact, eventually buy one - though I love my C6 Aero Lightweight (one of 42).

All welcome comments. That being said I still love my 87 C4 I know it is considered by the majority of this community to be a giant piece of crap but I love her none the less.
Thankfully I found a fabulous mechanic that truly knows the car inside and out and I will continue on my hopeless quest to bring her back to her original 1987 glory. We love what we love and that's just how it is.
If I win the lotto I will go pick up a fresh Red C7 and burn up some tires at the XXX show in the parking lot across the street. Until that happens I will be busy keeping what has been in my family for over 18 years alive and enjoy the crappy dashboard the leaks and ill fitting removable top the rattles and noises the ****** stereo but mechanically she is track ready and running fab. I am also open to any donations for a C7 for Seattle C4. It's a non profit org so you can get a write off as well.

the :local" FOX news (channel 12 on Dish) had a live interview with a "cruise" to Bend this morning. They had all kinds of cars leaving including a Mercedes -$150,000, a Tesla -$80,000(base price) and a quick view of a white C7 (I didn't even know there was one in Oregon right now). Gosh they are beautiful and I am not even a fan of white Vettes!!

But Chevy has gone down hill in quality control. That video shows more reasons why I shouldnt get one. All new. Great for a marketing statement. In reality all the bugs need to be worked out and not all problems will be resolved. Just the problems that hurt the bottom line will be fixed.How is the reliability, GM?

And BTW I still love that electronic dash.....I remember driving home at night from Chicago, where I'd just picked it up and was enamoured with that display. And that clam shell hood was really cool (Lotus Elan like?) albeit a lotta detailing!

Case in point; some years ago I bought a partially restored '58 Austin Healey "Bugeye" Sprite. A horrible little car, but one I bought at a decent price and figured I could make a profit on with a little more work.
I did, indeed make a small profit on the Sprite, but while I had it I got tired of all the grinding, the rust repair and, besides, I could barely even fit behind the wheel to drive it. So, I took it to a restoration shop and inquired as to how much would it cost to complete the job.
The first questioin the fellow asked me is why I wanted to restore it. I told him because I thought the little Bugeyes were going to go up in value and thought I could make some money off it.
He said, "Do you love this car?" I didn't. So I sold it and never looked back.
This is all my long-winded, wine-infused way of telling you that if you love your C4, then, by god, you are probably way ahead of many of us in terms of why you enjoy your Corvette. Is there a better reason to wn one? It sure isn;t fuel ecnomy.
I sometimes get put off by some of the show and shine and concours events the various clubs put on. I attend many of them, but only to meet with friends, like yourself and Walter and not to enter. Some are truly seriuos events, like, say, Bloomington Gold, some are more casual, but the awards seem to go to Corvettes with mods or glue residue in the door jambs, whatever. I'm not being critical here except to say there ought to be some sort of award for people like yourself who don't drive a garage queen, but just love their cars and enjoy being together with like-minded enthusiasts.
I suppose an award for the person who most enjoys their Corvette might be difficult to judge, but, Dammit, Ken, it's people like you that are really the heart and soul of an informal group like on this forum.
Just don't park that C4 next to the C6 Aero Lightweight when I'm competing for an award though, Okay? Promise?
Does this make sense or shall I go pour a second glass of Glenlivet and start all over?

John Elegant Pres of Capital Corvette Club out of Salem, came up and gave a talk to the MtHood Corvettes in Portland last night. OMG does he know a lot about the C7 (he has ordered a 2015) He keeps pointing out that he does NOT work for GM or even have any stock!! He gave details of all the upgrades,warranties,and fantastic changes. We are sure sold and can't wait to see one in person. Everything from the voice activated dash to upgraded suspension,tires,etc,etc,etc. Open the convertible top or start the car,turn on the AC from 15ft away!! I guess Suburban Chev ordered 5 or 6 & already sold and don't know when they will have one for test drives,because they are selling before they get them in.

Walter, you're right. Ken, why do you feel that your C4 is so disregarded by the members of this forum and anyone else for that matter? The operative word in your comments is "Love". If you love your C4, then that's a lot more than many of us can say about whatever we have and that gives me some reason to expound on the subject by way of this forum.

Maybe we should drive out to Fred's tomorrow (unless he's going to E@RTC) and see if he's willing to share some of that single malt he seems so proud of. Wonder how much cheaper it is at the base commissary?
BTW, you know anyone that can repair window blinds? I thought I could but well, I find I'm a better Merlin mechanic than a window blind repair person.

Thank you for the support I love the C4 it will always be my favorite. Spent 3 years racing that car with the Corvette Challenge and that car is in my DNA now.

I am in on the scotch... Thank you for the kind words. After two divorces I don't own that 5K Ft mcmansion any more and I do not have a garage to store my girl but I did buy an Iron Shield waterproof cover for her this year since I lost my dry storage. "I know Gasp" but that's the way it is.
I will put her on life support during winter by the way the best battery tender is only 30.00 bucks from Amazon made by Deltran. Thankfully I found a great mechanic in Lake City and underneath the cruddy paint job resides a fully functional and a stem to stern restored vehicle that runs amazing. Using Amsoil in the engine, tranny and rear end. I will continue to throw improvements into her.
This year I will be getting the door sweeps replaced and the inner workings rebuilt along with replacing the broken windshield courtesy of another local Eastside classic car repair facility that will remain nameless.
It's been a 3+ year journey and I put time and money into her when I can but every time I get into that car and twist the key she springs to life and I am forever sucked into her magic.
