The new Olympic Grand Prix go cart track is a 1/5 scale track of the Ridge Motorsports Park. Paving should begin today! They hope to open by the first of August.

Now what we need are some cars to run on the Kart Track like these:

Those karts are super cool! The asphalt was laid on Wednesday for the kart track. It is smooth and with the elevation changes, it will be a very fun track.

The forecast for the upcoming weekend looks incredible! Turn2 has openings in all run groups for both this coming Friday and Saturday! Come on out and participate with T2, get a ride, or come play with the new Kart track!

I actually decided to leave him home this time. At a PCA event, there just isn't anything nearly as fast as Grumpy. I'll be running some of the less hp cars out there. Of course, instructing in all three run groups, there will not be much time to drive.

Turn2 has another track day at the Ridge on Friday and Saturday the 9th and 10th. There will be open lapping all day long. That would be about 7 hours of available seat time!

Time to get this thread back to the top of the list.

There is an instructor training this coming Saturday March 5th. There is a saying, "there is no teaching, only learning". By teaching, we continue to learn. After becoming a very qualified driver, it is the next step in the progression of high performance driving.

Turn2 will be kicking off the track season with a track day on April 1st. No, this is not an April fools joke, but I am sure that there will be plenty of jokes about it.

Default PCA Ridge

Great HPDE day at the Ridge yesterday with Porsche Club. Weather was perfect, cool and dry for the cars with some sun for us. I think I saw one other vette, that was it. The ZR did well as usual. Friends had their new 2016 GT3 RS, very nice. 458 Italia in attendance too.

If you haven't had the chance to drive your car like its made to you really owe it to yourself as a car enthusiast to do one of these events. Turn 2 is another very active club around here.

Sounds like a great day! I wish you were able to take some pics, those were some cool cars in attendance.
I would LOVE to hit The Ridge but it's a bit harder to get there for me than Pacific Raceways is. I WILL make it one day and I hope to see some of those cars you mentioned out there!
GT3 RS.... Man, I'd be happy to see any of those. I love 458s as well.
That's great you made it out there for the event. I'd like to spend LOTS of time there with Turn 2.

Keep us posted!

If people are not watching, SCCA Track Night comes to the Ridge on Thursday 16th afternoon/evening. 3 run groups for $150 is a bargain, and far less time/$ commitment then a full day of lapping (think consumables).
Then Friday at PIR. They have 2x more in July, and another in August.

Tom and Turn2 Lapping are having another HPDE at The Ridge this Friday, June 17th and last I checked, there's still openings! This will be my first time driving my Corvette with my new hand controls on the track - the old hand controls weren't up to the cornering so it should be a fun learning experience. It'd be great to see others out there!

Heyy Mike, how have you been?

Why did you leave your car in storage for the summer? I'll soon have a C7 for the track duty; would be nice to meet up at the track : )

Getting closer to retirement and decided to downsize our house, it turned into a much bigger project than we anticipated. I hope to find another place to live by the end of summer but right now it looks pretty grim.

Those C7's are doing well at the track! I saw one Z06 give serious competition to a Radical last year. You'll have a ball with yours!

Heading back to PIR on 6.22 for the afternoon lapping session. There is space available in the novice class, and the mandatory driver's meeting starts at 11:30.
