We may have to plan some rain or shine cruises...or do yous guys drive your Vettes in the rain? They really don't melt and do clean up really nicely.

Default A place for lunch

The loge at Crescent Lake is also a good place to eat right on the lake.

This is a beautiful drive, especially on a weekday so the traffic will be quite light. Get the reservations made and join us for a great drive!

Jeez, I forgot all about this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention Walter.

Mary and I are hoping to make this, but the Hydro race schedule is being adjusted and we've committed to at least two races this year. Exhibition runs to be sure, but it sometimes requires more effort to get an old boat running safely than some of the new turbine boats.

While I'm on the subject, don't forget the annual Mahogany & Merlot event in Chelan the second weekend of October. I'm hoping will have some new (old) boats there this year.

Default Another lunch option on Aug 11

TO: Olympic Loop cruise participants on August 11 -12
FR: Art Greenberg (Olympic)

For the sake of choice, I contacted the Oak Table Restaurant in Sequim as a possible lunch stop on August 11. If you prefer another eatery (e.g., Crescent Lodge) that would be fine as well.
The food at the Oak Table is homemade and delicious.

You can check out their breakfast and lunch menus at their website. They serve a great breakfast all day (they close at 3 pm).

EMAIL SENT AND RESPONSE:

Hello Art.
Thanks for thinking of our place to visit. Our lot is large enough for that, plus plenty of contiguous on street parking too. The # of folks is fine too. August is our busy season, but Tuesdays don't fill up like a weekend for us. But, that being said, it may help to hear from you that day, earlier, to give us a heads up. We don't do reservations, but the warning can be helpful for you and us. Again, thanks for thinking of our place, hope to see you, and have a great and safe trip.
Billy

Hello at the Oak Table,

Question for you fine folks...

Several western WA Corvette owners are making a trip around the Olympic Peninsula this summer. The excursion begins in Tacoma with an overnight at the Kalaloch Lodge on the coast.

Anyway, can your restaurant (and parking lot) accommodate
approximately 15 Corvettes and perhaps 25 people for lunch on Tuesday, August 11? We should be arriving sometime before noon.

I know it's far in advance but we're trying to firm things up for early notice to participants. Thank you for any information you can provide.

Default Made my reservation

I just made a reservation for a cabin on the bluff overlooking the ocean, with a carport. See you all on August 11 and most likely sooner.

What a Tuesday/Wednesday trip?!?! What are you all old and retired?
Holding up the Corvette image I see.

Well count me in, in about 30 years.

Old and retired? Actually yes. What gave "us" away?

Then you want us "geezers" to wait another 30 years so you can tag along?

Please don't wait. the old guys on this trip are great fun.

Don't push it, Fred. If he's 30 years from becoming "one of us" it might feel like visiting the in-laws in Omaha for Thanksgiving.

I can relate to that, only my in-laws (all 46 of them) lived in Renton. Not that there's anything wrong with Renton, you understand.

It sounds as though Joe has matters well in hand and I expect it to be a good turnout. Surely I can't imagine anyone organizing an event 10 months ahead of time if most of us will exceed our life expectancy by then.

We can only hope that the resort of choice has more disabled parking than not. I just renewed mine.

Just sayin'

I am sure you are. I actually bought an SVT Focus, since it would be a more practical fun car then my ratty C4, but really didn't like the community of my "peers". Ok so most are younger then me, I guess I am in the middle.

If any of your kids are looking for a fun car, the SVT Focus will be up for sale soon cheap reliable fun transportation. Just not a track weapon like the C4.

This is hilarious, how did you know my inlaws live in Omaha?!?! (seriously they do)

And my wife was born in Renton, but never lived there.

Not quite.

I'm one of those fortunate enough to be a teacher able to enjoy a 10 week summer vacation during which time I'm out in the Vette as often as possible. Plus when I did this last summer, the roads around the peninsula were almost empty...had lots of chances to exercise my 400 horses.

Truth be told, I'll be retiring in about 3 years or so and will be able run around all the time. Can't wait! Don't forget....60 is the new 40.
