Olympic Peninsula Tour 2015
OK ladies and gentlemen, let's go ahead and get this on the calendar for next summer. AUGUST 11 and 12, 2015. That's a Tuesday/Wednesday overnight trip around the peninsula the second full week of August.
Let's plan to meet up at the Tacoma Mall JC Penny parking lot southeast corner (same place the very first PNW Corvette meet up took place 10 years ago) to leave no later than 9:30 a.m. That would put us into Port Angeles about noon and includes a rest stop at the Longhouse Market and Deli just south of Sequim. In Port Angeles, we could either find a nice restaurant or go on to Crescent Lake and eat a brown-bag lunch by the lake.
After lunch, we could head on down to Forks enjoying those nice straight roads and some of the twisty turns as well and spend some time there shopping (for the ladies) or whatever and then head down to the Kalaloch Lodge which is right on the ocean and seems like a great place to overnight and have dinner that evening and breakfast the next morning.
Again, these are only suggestions for the entire group but it's likely what Kathleen and I will plan on doing.
Here are those who have indicated an interest in this trip so far:
Keith (kmcoldcars) Kakaloch cliff side cabin
rdhotc5
Aaron & Jennifer (aaronZ51) [B]Kalaloch cliff side cabin[/B
Phil (last 901)
Pat (Mufflerbearing)
John (JETninja) Kalaloch cliff side cabin
Corvette Sparky
Mark (Mr. Peabody)
KDLARRY
FASTOYZ
Fred (fperra)
Kevin K
Art (Olympic)
MACE Hardware Room Reserved
I'll bump this thread occasionally as a reminder.
Edit: I made my reservation for one of those cabins overlooking the ocean. Each cabin even has a little carport for the Vette. Just sayin'...

Olympic National Park Audio TourExplore
Have An Interpreter In Your Cell Phone
Next time you are out and about, you can connect to Olympic National Park via an audio tour. The messages are short with options at the end of the message to "press for further information" on specifics about the areas. What a great way to immerse yourself in your surroundings! Dial (360) 406-5056, then select a number from the list:
1. Hurricane Ridge
2. Elwha
3. Lake Crescent
4. Sol Duc
5. Mora & Ozette
6. Hoh
7. Kalaloch
8. Quinault
9. Staircase
10. Park Overview
What a great way to immerse yourself in your surroundings! Normal cell phone rates apply

As near as I can tell at this point, there is only one casino, in Sequim I believe. The Seven Cedars I think. Will there be maps or directions to the route or to the final destination in the unlikely event I might spend a bit o'time in the wee establishment? (got that expression off one of Walter's Scotch bottles).

I'll bet you do, goofball. Probably for two Knights too huh?
You know, I think we're in danger of being banned (again in your case) for using this forum for silly and often inappropriate banter. We have each others' regular (oh, that reminds me, I talked to my Gastro Dr at Virginia Mason and he's suggested some meds for your problem and doesn't think it's a matter of the cost of your Scotch) ) Emails so why are we embarrassing ourselves in front of your only two friends?
Sorry, Fred, if I'm assuming you consider Walter as a friend. I think the others who often claim him do so for tax purposes.

Here's the directions to the Kalaloch Lodge where we're going to overnight...from their website.
From Sequim, just continue on toward Port Angeles staying on 101. Continue through Port Angeles past Forks and on down to the coast. Once you come to the coast, you continue along the ocean until you come to the Kalaloch Lodge on the right. It's about 90 miles from Port Angeles.

Need more motivation?
Download and take a look at the menus at the Creekside Restaurant next to the Kalaloch Lodge...

May I Join In?
Art here in PT. My C7 is on order and I believe it will be here before next August. If it is, may I join this fantastic road trip in progress? I live close to the Longhouse deli (just yards from the 7 Cedars Casino) in Blynn along 101. I would like to join the Corvette convoy at that point. Does that break any rules?

I think the C7 looks terrific in silver, however, my 2000 C5 was silver and I wanted to try another color. Shark gray lies somewhere between silver and CG. You can build a '15 C7 and see all the color combos on the Chev site.

Just made my reservations for a bluff cabin for 2. Looks like my wife will be riding shotgun instead of my Dobie girl!

Safety Car
Next August Connie and I are taking my eldest granddaughter to London for about 12 days. Since we haven't decided on the exact days there is a good chance that I'll have to miss this drive. Hopefully not though. Will just have to wait and see.
